Pretty much the title. How long will the interview be? Will they ask a question for every competency? How many questions? And an idea of just how much job knowledge I need to memorise would be great too as I think I might be going overboard for this stage and am struggling to take everything in. Just to clarify where I'm at, I have passed the application and Standard Entrance Test and am due an interview the coming week.

Hi, this is a query I am desperate to get some light shead on, I recently suffered an ACL injury the doctor give me option to operate or have physio. I have been having private physio and I’m able to run and complete bleep test etc with no issues. I am wondering if due to the fact of having a Torn ACL but the doctor is happy that it won’t effect my performance and states I don’t require the surgery no longer as my knee is strong enough with out... would I still fail the medical? Has anyone passed the medical with a similar knee issue or anything I would love to hear and get some positive feedback hopefully! The only thing I have left to pass is…

Morning all, I'm just wondering what the standardised process is should somebody fail their police officer medical stage. I realise that this will be force specific, each case is on it's own merit and it's best to contact HR however I'm curious to hear what the normal actions are should somebody fail. I imagine that one would just be told that they can reapply in 6 months providing it is not a life long issue that would prevent you from becoming an officer or you would be placed on a back fill list? Before you ask I'm just curious of the process and haven't been failed at medical 😅 Any advice welcome! XA84

Hi all, I have my day 2 (medical) with the Met this Tuesday but I’m not sure what to wear as the emails I received are a tad confusing. One document says wear interview/business attire then dress into sports wear, another says to come in sports wear? Should I come in a suit then change into my PE clothing or turn up casually so it’s eaiser to change? Also; has anyone completed the verbal reasoning test for the trainee detective role? Do you have any tips regarding this or is it just like every other verbal reasoning test? Thanks very much in advance!

I am currently applying for a PC position within the Met, and have passed both my Day 1/2. During my Day 2, I was told by the nurse that I had to write descriptions for a couple of medical items on my questionnaire and send it to this email: dormailbox-ohrecruits@met.pnn.police.uk This was back in December (sent it on the 13th) and I assumed that it had all gone through, although I did not get an email saying they had got the information. Fast forward to last night (28th) where I got a 'Met Recruitment Team' email at 11pm saying: We are currently undergoing a review of our outstanding Medical Cases, if you have previously been requested to provide any…

Hi sorry if this has been asked many times but for people who have attested recently what is the time frame from say Day 1 to final job offer? I know vetting time depends on the person. Thank you!

Hi all, I've recently applied to West Mercia, on 3/1/19 to be precise. I'm yet to receive any response from them since the acknowledgement of my app. I'd already successfully passed all of the pre-application assessment's online so it can't be these that are causing the delay. Is 3 weeks a 'normal' waiting time? Should I contact them to chase it up? A friend received a response within a week of submitting his app, so I'm fearing the worst!

Hi there, I have been officially diagnossed with Scheurmann's disease/scheurmann's kyphosis. I can get in quite a lot of pain in the back and the legs, especially after running (although I am more than fit enough to pass the BLEEP test, it is not an issue of me being overweight). Would this stop me from taking on a frontline role? I have been told by the doctor I most likely wouldn't be able to join the army, so I wondered if the same could be for police as it is quite a physical job. Thanks

Afternoon all I did a SEARCH assessment in 2016 - does anyone have any experience replacing a lost results/feedback pack? I've requested it direct from the force in the hope that they keep it on record, but I'm worried they won't have it on record anymore! Thanks

Hello everyone I've recently gone through my application with Derbyshire constabulary and was awaiting a start date which I was told would be between October 2018 to the end of 2019. I was offered a place on the new police constable degree apprenticeship scheme which would of started in September but due to being mobilised with the RAF until October I had to turn down the opportunity. I've since had an email saying I've now been placed in a pool of reserves awaiting a start date between October and the end of 2019 but I don't have a guaranteed place on any intake and if I don't get in before 2019 they will just terminate my application. Obviously this is …

Does anyone know if vetting to becone a special is different to the vetting carried out to be a regular? Do different forces have different vetting thresholds in that certain forces may allow certain convictions and others wont?

Hi all - I’ve recently completed my probation period with West Midlands Police and within the next 2 years will look to relocate back where my family live (Surrey), and will apply for a transfer. I know very little about transferring at present, so looking for some info. I am booked on to undertake my taser x26 course in December this year, and just awaiting a date for my response driving course and PO level II. Does anyone know whether we can take these tickets with us when we transfer or will we lose this and have to retrain with our new force all over again to obtain these? Thanks in advance.

Apols if this is in the wrong area admins, could only find an area for PCSO and PSE recruitment questions A friend of mine applied to Durham earlier this year and passed SEARCH in April but failed the final interview in May He’s now considering a move down south to Kent but isn’t sure whether an application would be accepted at the moment due to the 6 month rule His last SEARCH results are enough for Kent but they do not accept people who have failed final interview or vetting from another force and so he will have to wait until these have expired As far as I was aware, the final interview is local and the SEARCH stage is the only nationalised part of the …
