Hi, I'm due to start police training in a couple of months and I have a couple of questions, What are the first few weeks of training like, will there be assessments straight away? Are you supplied with all the information you need to study for assessments or will I need to purchase extra material? If you fail an assessment, do you get any option to re-take it? I received my welcome pack through the post with basic information I need to know, I've already booked an appointment to have my uniform fitted and I am planning on ordering a pair of Altberg boots, but is there anymore preparation I need to do before starting training? Hi All Due to start training in March 2018 after a two and a half year wait, been a long haul but over the moon to see the light at the end of the tunnel now. Just have a few questions for anyone recently in training or one of the all knowing admins, I know these will vary from force to force, just looking for a general insight really. What are the first months of training like, what type of training is it (classroom, role plays, shadowing etc)? What are the shift patterns when you first begin training? Does anyone know what the salary range would be for a BTP Police Officer based in Lincolnshire?

Can you process on the street for failing to stop - if the car eventually stops after a long chase? Adding on the dangerous driving obviously. Only Ive seen on cop programmes that arrest takes place as soon as they get the car stopped.

As I am now beginning my first steps of the recruitment process to becoming a PC, I am getting slightly anxious about not making it. Although my rational self tells me that it is completely normal to feel like this when going into something very new, I am also aware that this isn't unique to me and others probably had these feelings during their recruitment stages as well. Good Morning, I guess I am looking for some advise or to see if anyone has experienced the same as me. I recently had a final interview and passed however, I have been informed I cant be guaranteed a intake due to having a select number of vacancies. I have been told that should there be any further intakes or a place opens up on the intakes due for next year I can be fast tracked. It's thoroughly disappointing to go through the whole process, pass the final interview and not progress. Good afternoon all, This question relates to those who have previously served or those in the know how regarding army reserve colour service. Basically I've been accepted into my chosen force as a PC after leaving the military this year after serving 7 years within the army Now as a police officer are you still obliged to be called upon as a reservist in times of need? Or am I now excused from the remainder of my colour service and if so do I need to notify the MOD? Thanks in advance Matthew

Afternoon All I'm an just about to apply for police Scotland (just the push of a button required) However I am nervous about my fitness and how quick they will do it, I know the level has dropped to 5.4 but I want make sure I can do this I've read that If I failed on the first attempt you get three more chances to pass, Is this correct and if so how long between chances do you get I.E 1 hour - 1 week-2 weeks etc I broke my leg and dislocated my ankle last June so been shedding the weight and still a bit to go to hit the BMI standard Any advice on the above would be greatly appreciated Thanks M

A couple of weeks ago I completed all aspects of my application process, I got a call from someone asking permission to contact my current employer for a reference she also said my application is complete and I should hopefully be on the February intake, After the phone call I emailed her the details of my HR department for her to contact for a reference. Shortly after she emailed me stating that she had received the reference and that my application is complete and that my application has been handed over to her manager for quality checking. I was just wondering, if she said my application/file is complete, does this mean even my vetting is completed/passed as well? And …

Hello there, I'm after a bit of help in relation to possible points on my driving licence. I'm currently 3 weeks away from my medical and today I believe I was caught by a speed camera van. Unknowingly keeping up with traffic and went to overtake only to see the camera van but I believe it was all too late. Anyway my question is should I receive 3 or even 6 points will it affect my application??? I've read that upon applying you shouldn't have more than 6 points, so as I'm already at an advanced stage and I shouldn't recieve more than 6 points I should be ok. Hey guys, Really not sure what to do as I seem to have been stuck in the system. I had a medical on the 20th June and since then all I’ve had is recruitment saying They haven’t received my medical cert from occy health. I offered to send them he copy they gave me which they wouldn’t accept. I’ve missed out on 2/3 courses at least now as I’m stuck here waiting. Every time I email them or call them they say the same thing still waiting. Today I thought I was finally getting somewhere as they said occy health have agreed you have passed your medical however still waiting for them to send the cert and can’t move until then. Hi all first post here, I have been given a date for my final board interview for Norfolk which is November 9th. I couldn't go to the first date they gave me in October as I was on holiday and this is my second time applying! I have got to do a 10 minute presentation and my letter says that it should be presented to the interview panel on a flip chart only, does anybody have any suggestions on how best to tackle this and what kind of information I need to include? My handwriting is awful so I was going to get my partner to assist in the visual presentation. I know a lot of forces use an interview and some even a 5 minute presentation but 10 seems like a lon…
