It appears that in the training environment there is no such thing as a pass/fail anymore. Failure is now couched as 'not yet achieved'. What does ths mean?? I had a probationer who 'did not yet achieve' her crime element 5 times. I would argue that this has to be a core skill and yet the 'not yet achieved' status is ignored by those who make the decisions as to whether she satys or goes. She is now outwith her probation at a different station, gladly one which doesn't cover my home address! This is a perfect example of the pink fluffyness which I am so so much against..... lets get real once again and stop conning ourselves and the recruits. Should the poll go against…

I have just read that in some forces, once all applicants reach 5.4 on the bleep test, the test is stopped. Do you think this is right? I think it is a good idea on one hand as it saves the applicant some energy for the next part of the test. Why run the applicants to level 8 or 9 when there is no need?

Im putting some serious thought into getting laser eye surgery done. Just wondering if people thought it was worth it? where did they get it done? have they found they have perfect vision after? any ones that have gone wrong?

I broke up a fight a couple of weeks ago and ended up receiving a couple of punches to my chest the left side. It ached for a bit then went away. Over the weekend I was playing with my son and I turned quickly and its started hurting again. I have not been to the gym this week as a precaution but its worrying me a bit. I remember on some of the forms for the Police that you have to disclose whether you have vistited a doctor recently. Do you think I should visit the Doctor or try and train again on Friday at the gym? Please advice me as to what is the best course of action. I am awaiting a letter from West Mids Police to confirm when my second physical test is goin…
