I've been considering a move to the Met for some time now and eventually got round to filling the forms in and sending them off six months ago, yesterday I got a job offer... Does anyone here, working in the met, know anyone that lives and commutes into work from Northants? I live in Kettering and if the posting is satisfactory and the shift pattern is etc, I would consider communting each day?!?!??! Does anyone have anything to offer, advice wise, on this (do you do it, do you know anyone who does etc etc?) I'm in 2 minds as to whether I should move or not, I don't mind the longer day, it's just whether it can be physically done!!

Did the 15 metre bleep test the other day, and was disappointed to only get to level 8, which is only 6minutes! I remember on the old 20 metre test you had to run for at least 8.5 mins to pass. Does the 15 metre one reach a faster pace quicker than the 20 metre one, hence my naff result? Or does it just take more practice? I know the pass is now level 5.4 but there's now way I'm content with that! Let me know how far you can go....and be honest!

However, in all honesty, i have been more interested in being a police officer. I am in my late twenties with a military reservist background (including one tour as an infantry soldier in Basra last year, and kind of got decorated for actions there). I have been told many a time that i have the correct attitude and mentality fo…

Hello, Please can somebody help me. After my fitness test I am due to have a medical where I know I will fail the sight test. Is it best to get laser surgery now, or wait until the medical and tell them I intend to have it. (a) would they wait until after that and the 6 week period. (B) would they just fail me and would I have to wait another 6 months again before applying.
