Vetting question

Hi, I wonder if anyone could shed some light for me as I'm starting to get myself twisted up with the vetting form. So in the police involvment section it states "it is crucial that you inform us of any police investigation you have previously been involved In, regardless of whether it has led to the prosecution (including a caution) or not, of any person". As this was quite a few years ago I had forgotten about it until now, I had to give a witness statement at a police station for a person who was wanted for an assault earlier that day. I didn't witness the assault, it was more than I recognised the person, however the police wanted a statement of this a…

Police Scotland PSET / interview

Hi, I was just wondering if someone can help me with some information. I'm looking to join Police Scotland as a police officer. I am nervous about the PSET and the interviews. I have previously worked as a CJPCSO so I am aware of the Police interview style (Compentecy based). I am going online and trying to find as much information as I can on what they might ask me during the interview and I was looking for some examples of possible things they may ask to give me a direction on what to study or practice. Also with the PSET, could anyone suggest any good websites to help with practice for these tests. Thanks

Hi all, I had my medical (day 2) back in February which I passed. However, my vetting is still ongoing - in fact, my vetting form was only sent to the external vetting team a few weeks ago despite it being completed in February too. I wondered if anyone else has applied for the Met and has had any indication of how long vetting is likely to take?

Hi all. With regards to the PCDA can anyone tell me how long the initial training phase is before you actually go out on shift. I've read somewhere that it is 1 week but find it hard to believe that you would be trained to a level that it is safe to go on shift and also to have been attested. I understand that you will be on shift with a tutor officer but still 1 week doesn't seem like enough time. Any info would be great. Cheers Dan

Vetting Concern

Hello all was hoping i could get an opinion on the vetting process please, i understand the final say lies with the force in question. I was investigated for an incident which was found as NFA, however im aware that doesnt prove innocence in the eyes of some. I've attempted to make contact with the forces vetting officer to see if they can further advise. Do you feel being investigated for something but NFA would stand against me at the vetting process ? Again i understand honesty is key so would ofc declare this on my vetting form. Many Thanks

Hello, I have been confirmed to take part in a formal or Skype interview sometime in December for Cheshire Constabulary; I have completed the online assessment centre for Merseyside and so I was able to skip past this stage for Cheshire. I was just wondering, for the interview stage that I am up to, I have been at this stage before for Merseyside, however was unsuccessful, so any help for this stage would be appreciated, anything from questions they would/could ask, or good answers to give; what are they looking for? And what not to say. Thank you very much for your help.

I have just heard that I have been shortlisted and I am now awaiting a date from the college of policing for a date to undertake my assesments online. Does anyone have any hints and tips that will help me with the online assesment. I have looked at the policing college website but it doesn't give you that much information. Any advise or websites that can help would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks

Potential PC Application - Previously Dismissed

Good evening After a number of years of procrastination I have decided that I should look at the possibility of joining the police (preferably BTP) as a Police Constable before time runs out. There is one black mark in my life in that I was dismissed from a job 25 years ago (as a young manager I failed to deal with a mistake by my staff) I am professionally qualified and a former member of the army reserve with a tour of Afghanistan behind me my question is am I wasting everyone’s time? I’m trying to manage my expectations and don’t want to start the process if there is no prospect of it coming off Many thanks

Advice needed should I join or not.

I have recently passed all the selection process for a police officer and now I need to make the difficult decision on what to do now. Joining the Police has always been an ambition but in my 20s I wasn't able to pass the selection centre. I currently work in IT working 9-5 Monday to Friday with good benefits including 48 days annual leave and a good pension. Joining the police would also see my salary drop by 50% but after 20 years in IT the passion is not the same as it once was and I now feel this is my last opportunity to follow my dreams of joining the police. My main concern is the protental impact on my family, I love my wife to bits who I have been with …

Vetting taking a long time.

Hi guys, I've recently applied to join Cheshire, passed everything around 5 months ago and provided my vetting forms straight away. My concern is that is taking an extremely long time, I appreciate that Covid19 has slowed things down for everyone. I was wondering if this could be a sign of any concerns from the vetting team? They ran a credit search on me at the end of September which I can see on my file, but still no word. Is it literally a case of no news is good news or is this a bad sign?

Hello I am in the process of waiting for my results on my application. Question that I have is how many weekends would you work on response in a typical month ? I’m coming from a normal 9-5 Monday to Friday job and trying to get my head around potential shifts. Some say you work no more than 4 days in a row then have 4 off? Any comments would be great Thanks

Anyone that has done the bleep test as part of the recruitment process lately in England....do they stop you when you have reached 5:4 or do you carry on as far as you can? Do they record your actual result or is it just a pass or fail that is recorded? Thanks.
