I had my final interview on Saturday and am pretty certain I messed it up. Felt quite confident in the run up and had prepared a lot but then was asked different styles of questions to what I’d been advised and it really threw me and I’m certain I didn’t hit the competencies enough to score the points. I have experience that I think is suitable and I know I would be good at the job but I just know I didn’t get enough of that across in the interview. I’m waiting for the result now, will hear by Friday, but really struggling with the disappointment already and that’s before I’ve even had the confirmation email that I didn’t make it through! Hi all, I wondered if anyone have had a chance to look into new form of PSETS. I’ve bought some of unofficial PSETS practices papers but I don’t know how similar and correct they are comparing to official PSETS. So the practice papers has been bought from police training Scotland website. There is 3 books which contains 2 psets. thanks for any help. B.

I’ve got through the online assessment centre and have my final interview in a couple of weeks. If I get through, how long will the vetting and reference checks take? And any idea when I might start? I remember being told the intakes this year for the police force I’ve applied to are May and then none until august. I finish my degree end of April so not expecting to start in May but do you think I’m likely to start in august? Just trying to figure out what to do work wise between now and then?

Hi, I am looking to apply to Police Scotland, and have a few questions which i am hoping you guys can answer. What is the definition of resident of the UK..? Sounds daft i know but I went on a working holiday to Canada for 8 months at a time, however I still had a UK address and bank account and never actually settled there. Does this count as not being a resident? Also, i have a pretty bad credit score but no CCjs or anything serious, just some late payments years ago, will this stand against me during the process? Ive scoured google and the force website but haven't come across an answer yet! thank you!

Hi all, I had my medical (day 2) back in February which I passed. However, my vetting is still ongoing - in fact, my vetting form was only sent to the external vetting team a few weeks ago despite it being completed in February too. I wondered if anyone else has applied for the Met and has had any indication of how long vetting is likely to take?

Hi everyone, I think recruitment may be getting sick of hearing from me, or maybe someone else going through the process is like me when filling out this vetting form because it is driving me absolutely bonkers 🙈. Hi, I wonder if anyone could shed some light for me as I'm starting to get myself twisted up with the vetting form. So in the police involvment section it states "it is crucial that you inform us of any police investigation you have previously been involved In, regardless of whether it has led to the prosecution (including a caution) or not, of any person". As this was quite a few years ago I had forgotten about it until now, I had to give a witness statement at a police station for a person who was wanted for an assault earlier that day. Hi, I was just wondering if someone can help me with some information. I'm looking to join Police Scotland as a police officer. I am nervous about the PSET and the interviews. I have previously worked as a CJPCSO so I am aware of the Police interview style (Compentecy based). I am going online and trying to find as much information as I can on what they might ask me during the interview and I was looking for some examples of possible things they may ask to give me a direction on what to study or practice. Also with the PSET, could anyone suggest any good websites to help with practice for these tests. Thanks

Hello all was hoping i could get an opinion on the vetting process please, i understand the final say lies with the force in question. I was investigated for an incident which was found as NFA, however im aware that doesnt prove innocence in the eyes of some. I've attempted to make contact with the forces vetting officer to see if they can further advise. Do you feel being investigated for something but NFA would stand against me at the vetting process ? Again i understand honesty is key so would ofc declare this on my vetting form. Many Thanks

I have just heard that I have been shortlisted and I am now awaiting a date from the college of policing for a date to undertake my assesments online. Does anyone have any hints and tips that will help me with the online assesment. I have looked at the policing college website but it doesn't give you that much information. Any advise or websites that can help would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks

Good evening After a number of years of procrastination I have decided that I should look at the possibility of joining the police (preferably BTP) as a Police Constable before time runs out. There is one black mark in my life in that I was dismissed from a job 25 years ago (as a young manager I failed to deal with a mistake by my staff) I am professionally qualified and a former member of the army reserve with a tour of Afghanistan behind me my question is am I wasting everyone’s time?
