Morning All, I've read some threads on here regarding vetting but they are dated to say the least, so thought I'd ask a couple of questions: Is having a loan account in default by one month payment behind but payments are being made monthly an automatic fail ? Is having Pay Day loans albeit either settled to a satisfactory level or if they are ongoing with less than 6 months to go but are being managed satisfactory going to result in an application failing? Thanks in advance

Hi All, I recently attended my final interview and it was very relaxed and informal, more like a chat if I'm honest. The interview only lasted 20 mins and I guess I'd like to know your thoughts on of this is a positive or negative thing ? Any feedback appreciated

Hello, I applied for Police Constable and I have Search Assessment on 8th of November. I would like to know more information from you guys about how I can prepare better for this stage. I'm not english native and to be honest I don't want to do mistakes on roleplay or report writing. I'm trying to prepare everyday and find more information which can help me to improve my skills. Please if you can help me with more information or examples for roleplay, writing report or about the interview questions from Search Assessment I will really appreciate. Thank you.

Afternoon all. I'm relatively new to this forum - mainly reading through threads over the past few weeks! I have a few queries/questions and I would be grateful for any information! Almost 3 weeks ago I attended my final interview and was informed on the same day I had passed - expected start date January. I soon after received an email asking me to complete vetting forms and they would be in touch shortly regarding the fitness, medical, drugs testing etc. Any idea when I should receive dates for these as I will need to book holidays with my current employer? Another query I have is with regards to the medical. About 15 months ago I had some blood tests which s…

on behalf of my friend who is looking for information regarding whether she will be applicable or not as she’s worried she will go all the way and then fail vetting her story is... 11 years ago She was accused of assault which She had nothing to do with and then shortly after the person realised it was not her who had any involvement and She wasn’t even there at the time. She wasn’t arrested or taken to a police station. 10 years ago She was arrested for a common assault after 3 men were drinking outside her apartment and became verbally abusive towards her and one of them tried to grab her so she hit him once to the face. The man called the police and she w…

Hi all pleased to say I made it through the final interview and now onto the fitness, vetting etc. Anybody know what sort of questions your current work are asked? Is it just the basic how long have you worked there sort of questions? im also conscious I don’t want my current line manager finding out just yet - will the force hold off from contacting my work until I’ve passed everything else? I would like to tell him myself once everything is completed! thanks in advance

Hi all, Just received the news that I passed the assessment day and now have to sit my final interview with Surrey. A friend told me that the most challenging part of the whole process is the assessment day and that the final interview is more of a formality than anything else - I somewhat dispute this but has anyone heard the same? How does it compare to the assessment day? Thanks in advance,

So today I got the email I've been waiting 5 years for. I passed my final interview. I'm absolutely over the moon. I still have medical and fitness etc etc to pass but hopefully will be ok. My question is how long did your process take until you got that formal contract? Will my vetting be quick as I'm starting in the prison service on Monday. I've been vetted by them and passed no problems. I will continue with the prison until I have a formal definate offer from the police. I don't want to quit the prison service before I've started incase something changes or goes wrong with the police. They won't get in contact with my current work until I have passed everything else …

This seems to be a subject that comes up at least once a week, so hopefully this will be of help to potential applicants. All of this information is in the public domain and freely accessible. A Police Officer/Staff would normally undergo three types, CRB, Security & Financial. CRB – Will normally be at enhanced level, this check will interrogate databases listing criminal convictions, sex offenders register and watch lists for vulnerable groups such as those who can not work with children or at risk adults. This can take up to six weeks. Security Vetting – This is the most in-depth and has a number of levels, the standards set out in the Manual of Protective…

Hello all, In 2012 my father was convicted of benefit fraud and had to pay money back under proceeds of crime. He had a suspended sentence on tag, and it was non custodial. My father committed benefit fraud when I was aged 11 - 16. All I know is that he was convicted and had to pay back but he won't discuss it any further with me. I am applying as a regular Police Officer and I am now worried that I will fail my application due to my father's conviction. My father has had sound character since then and I was not involved in any of this. My record is spotless, not even a driving offence or anything as a juvenile, and the same for…
