Hi I need some information on possible on BTP intakes 2018. i applied Nov 2016, passed assessment centre oct 2017 and completed vetting and reference forms Nov 2017. Ive been waiting since then for a date for my basic training for C DIV and haven't got a clue when it'll be, got an email in Dec 2017 telling me there will be intakes between March and July 2018, phoned them once asking for an update regarding my vetting and was basically told to be patient and don't call us we'll email you when we know. so it's quite frustrating not knowing as I'm doubting now weather it will be this year, is there any other BTP student officers in the same situation as me???

Good evening people, I have my start date on Coming up soon I will be attending HQ in order to get my photograph for my ID card. I have just re-read my letters and it states to arrive in uniform, I’m going to assume that this is the boots, trousers, t shirt and jacket and not the stab vest. Probably a stupid question but hey ho, assurance would be great.

Am I Eligible? Age The minimum age to apply for the position of Constable is 18. There is no upper age limit however applicants should remember that the normal retirement age for Constables and Sergeants is 60. All new recruits have to undertake a 2 year probationary period, it is normal for officers to spend their first two years as a Constable on a response team working a twenty four hour a day, 7 days a week shift pattern. Sight We do accept applications from people who wear glasses or contact lenses. However an optician's report is required from all applicants. Unaided Vision We cannot accept applicants whose unaided vision is worse than …

I posed a question 8 years ago to this forum asking if you think I would be able to join the Police. Rightfully, I was told it wouldn't happen. So I took the advice on board and went to prove I was matured...I am 31 years old now, and I have been a security officer for the past five years. In these eight years my record has been completely clean. I am still a security officer and I have gained a lot of great life experience. I have had numerous run ins with the police but this time in a good way. I have done a lot of arrests of shoplifters, fraudsters and criminals. I have helped the police track down people and I think my most memorable moment as a security officer was …

Hi guys, Have my medical later on this month for PC! Very nervous about it! I have previously suffered from depression and have been clear of medication for 12 months now (WAS ONLY ON THEM FOR 3 MONTHS)! Anyone else been in the same/similar situation? Did you pass your medical without any glitches?

So, has anyone else received the email from Hants Constabulary recruitment team regarding further delays to our applications to join as a PC? It's been 19 months since my initial application. I'll bet my house that if they'd said at the start it would be 2years+ until you'll get a job offer a lot wouldn't have bothered! I'm a patient person but this is bordering the ridiculous, who holds these recruitment people to account? Is is a case of "get as many through the door as we can" because they get money for each one? Rant over.

Hi all I am over the moon to finally be able to say after two years that I received my final offer today to start PC training in four weeks with Cleveland Police. I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone on this site who has contributed content and answered my queries. Hand on heart I don't think I would have passsed everything without the tips and advice on this forum from serving police officers and fellow candidates. I have always found everyone very polite and professional and always willing to offer their insights into the recruitment process and life in the police service. Thank you all again and the very best of luck to everyone in their …

Hello all, I recently passed my final board interview for my local force and I’m getting slightly worried about the vetting process. When I originally expressed my interest in joining I was told I couldn’t apply because of a previous conviction. When I received the email advising me I couldn’t apply I was completely baffled, as I’m currently a serving SC and passed the exact same vetting process months earlier. I then advised recruitment that I am a serving SC and they said I could apply, but couldn’t guarantee I’d pass vetting due to my conviction. My question is, have you or anyone you know ever been an SC and failed vetting when applying to become a PC…

So it will be a good 6 months before I start training! Since finding out my start date I have seriously become demotivated in my current role ?! And every hour now seems like a life time! For those of you that have had to wait a few months before starting etc, how have you kept yourself motivated without your current role taking a serious hit in terms of motivation? To say I can't wait to get out and start as a PC is an understatement of the year! But over the moon to have been given my start date!

Hi guys, I did my SEARCH assessment centre with Northumbria Police on the 25th of January and we were told results would be in approximately a week after that date. We were given information that the final interviews are between the 5th of February and the 14th of February. How long did people wait for their results? Has anyone else who did the assessment on the same day for Northumbria heard anything yet?

Hi All, Hope everyone is well. I was wondering if anyone knows when Durham or Cleveland would be recruiting next for regular PCs. I have previously applied for Northumbria and passed all stages but then was notified 10 days before I was supposed to start training that I failed my vetting. I've spoke with Durham and Cleveland's vetting unit and it seems more hopeful that I would pass vetting with them. Thanks Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
