Hello everyone I've recently gone through my application with Derbyshire constabulary and was awaiting a start date which I was told would be between October 2018 to the end of 2019. I was offered a place on the new police constable degree apprenticeship scheme which would of started in September but due to being mobilised with the RAF until October I had to turn down the opportunity. I've since had an email saying I've now been placed in a pool of reserves awaiting a start date between October and the end of 2019 but I don't have a guaranteed place on any intake and if I don't get in before 2019 they will just terminate my application. Obviously this is a bit of a blow as it was the first I've heard throughout the whole process that after passing everything I still might be rejected. I've asked for information on another PCDA course to see if I could apply as they had already offered me the chance to do one course but they don't have any info on another course and told me just to check the website and they also can't tell me where I am in the pool of reserves so I don't know if I even have a realistic chance of getting a place. Are there any options here? My local forces of West Midlands and West Mercia aren't recruiting at the moment but my friend who starts with West Mercia in May said when it happened to him they offered him a place in a different force, is it worth asking my two local forces if that's an option? While I know there is still a chance for me to start with Derbyshire I don't just want to sit around till the end of 2019 just to find out I've wasted all that time. Thanks in advance

Hello all, Thought it would be a good idea as a fellow applicant myself to create a discussion for the recent ongoing (and upcoming) recruitment drives which plan to put new police officers in place for 2017/18. Here we can discuss anything in regards to Derbyshire Constabulary. Has anybody else been successful so far in recruitment? You're welcome
Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone managed to get through to Derbyshire last week and get allocated an application pack? I'm on the session at Ripley HQ on the 26th May. Would be nice to speak to people who are going through the recruitment process :) Thanks!
