Hi All, I am looking into the prospect of transferring to either TVP or Surrey and wanted to see if any current PC's for Surrey could chip in and advise. I have had a lot of dealings with Surrey Pol (mostly positive) and I understand all transferee's go directly onto Response. Few questions, 1. Do response deal with there own crimes, is there a prisoner handling team? 2. What is current situ with training courses? Is getting a response driving ticket hard work? 3. What's the overtime situ? I understand a lot of rural forces struggle with officer numbers etc.. 4. And finally, what's the tattoo policy? I have a full sleeve on my arm.. Anything else to be aware of/avoid? Thanks all and apologies if there is a similar post..
Hey guys, I am considering transferring from South Yorkshire to GMP. Naturally there a lot of questions I have which aren't answered on their website, if there is anyone who had made the jump across the Pennines then that would be awesome. Questions I have: Response/SNA - Are these separate departments or have these been merged into one similar to our Local Policing Teams? What is the shift pattern? Proactivity - I am wondering if there's much time to be proactive such as searching people, stopping cars and looking for crime rather than being reactive Would anyone recommend it, I know it'll be difficult to answer but I'm trying to gauge whether it'll be worth it. Morale is rock bottom at the moment at SYP and the grass is staring to look greener across the Pennines. My other half lives in Manchester so that's part of the reason for wanting to move however I don't want to transfer for that reason alone, I want to be sure the job is right for me. I do have more questions such as how easy are courses to get on, PSU calls out and uniform, I read something about having to wear tac vests however the above are the burning three. Any other information would be great. Thanks,
