Hi, Without going in to loads of detail on here, I was just wondering if anyone on here has been a victim of credit card fraud which you were made liable for? I am being made liable for over £4,000 even though I have done everything possible to prove my innoncence. The Financial Ombudsman sided with my bank so I am just waiting for the next stage but it looks as if I'm going to have to take legal action on my bank. It would be useful to know other people's experiences on this awful matter as I am going out of my mind. Thanks, Emily

Usual disclaimer noted - can I have some advice please from anyone who has experience with getting things delivered from abroad? My other half has recently ordered some good from the USA which total about $700, the order appears to have been split down into smaller component parts at $334 worth of goods have arrived in the country and are now down the local depot of a courier firm (big international courier firm). With the "while you were out" card also came an invoice for the tax due. Obviously, we have no problem paying tax because that is a legal requirement: what I do have an issue with is that they have seen fit to impose a handling fee/brokerage surcharge. Googling…

What app do you use (Apple or Android) to record your shift/hours? I currently use ShiftLife, which is decent, it does the job. And I like the way you can view overviews of your hours/shifts. But before I pay for the 2012 option I wondered if anyone else recommends an app for keeping track of shifts?

I pay most of my bills by direct debit and since the withdrawal of cheque guarantee cards I no longer have a cheque book. If I make a payment into somebody elses account (not a business) can they see my sort code and/or account number? I'm slightly concerned, perhaps pointlessly, that such details will be revealed - I'd prefer to be able to type in my name (as the payer) so that that's all they (the payee) can see.

Very quick one, looking for a HV Yellow jacket for out on the motorbike/scooter. been looking for a thin one, similar in style to the 'lightweight' HV jackets cops get (of course without Klickfast, eps and markings) all I can find is bib/vests or zip up long sleeve ones or ones with 'V necks' want a one that'll zip up proper and go over a motorbike jacket (hence me not seeking a parka or bomber style) any ideas? atrocious weather up here so want to 'be seen'

Hi can any one offer any advice, as my sister was assaulted in her own garden but the person who assaulted her has not been charged with anything but my sister has. It was the other lady that came into my sisters garden and hit her and sat on top of her and had to be pulled if by another neighbour, but the neighbours which witnessed it are all close friends of this women and have all told the police my sister started it and that it was in the road not the garden! Is there anything my sister can do as she is now being charged with assault and us on bail. My sister is the one with the injuries yet police didn't take no photos of her only the other lady, and also did not tak…

Hello all, I have the option on my course next year to take a module(s) in a language (which will be French.) Can someone who has taken a module in a language before offer me some advice? I don't find language comes naturally to me but have a desire to learn a second language. I studied French until GCSE and achieved grade B although don't feel that reflects my ability to speak French, more my ability to pass an exam... My course is not related to languages so it would be potentially a little obscure to take a language credit - but useful should I decide to work abroad etc etc. My questions really are these: Did you find taking a language module useful both in your …

Hi, I don't normally need to ask things like this but I have a bit of a problem with my 19 month old daughter. She has always been extremely strong willed and if she really wants to do something it is almost impossible to stop her. She is really into climbing at the moment and is often in places where she potentially puts herself in danger. I used to just pick her up, pull her away and say "no, dangerous" but she went into such a paddy that she probably didn't understand (she does have excellent understanding and vocabulary, she can talk in short sentences already and copies all spoken words). She is now starting to stop doing things when I ask her without actually ha…

OK so I'm finally getting round to taking my tunic to the tailor to have my Golden Jubilee ribbon stitched on. I know there's a protocol for the order of ribbons, and since I already have the LS&GC ribbon there, which side does the Jubilee medal sit?
