I guess we are all familiar with the CRB. Myself, I work specifically with young people and thereby need and have an enhanced CRB which anyone who does, has to have. But how does this affect those who, as part of their job/living, have children as part of it but don't actually work with them? For instance, running a miniature railway or working at a theme park where there is a high percentage of young people/children? Or being a street entertainer where you might pick children to help in the show? That sort of thing.

Hi, I need to sell my car, its getting far too expensive to run. 3.0L an all. Anyone know any free websites/places to sell my beloved car? I do not want to put a for sale sign on the car, it will get far too much attention from people where I live. I thought of Ebay but I might not get what I want for it on there and its a risk with their fees etc. Any ideas? Please.. Cheers.

Hi guys, Was just looking for a bit of advice. I have just looked at my credit rating on Experian as I was thinking to apply for a 0% interest free credit card. Expecting my report to be excellent, Experian rated me poor with a score of 716. To say I'm shocked is an understatement, and was looking for some advice as I'm a little confused with what has returned on it. The only 3 credit agreements on my report are: 1) My catalogue (with an outstanding balance of £90) 2) My current account with my bank (with an overdraft facility of £200) 3) My old T Mobile contract with £0 outstanding balance, as it is settled. However, I have the following active direct debits: *Br…

Hi all. I'm about to go into my third year at uni, studying Criminal Justice Studies, and I'm already hitting a brick wall when it comes to the dreaded dissertation. For one, I have no idea what it is, apart from a long essay... Let's just say that the uni I'm at is...in a word...terrible at organisation, and nothing has been giving to us as yet about what is expected, a rough structure, anything. We have been told to start looking into a chosen topic and research. I understand that uni is a lot of independent study, but a bit of guidance at the start would have been nice. Anyway, i digress. The main problem is picking a topic. Now, i know that I can't ask a forum to…

Hi all Yesterday I insured by first motorbike with a company, I have seen been emailed the policy documents as well as a request for me to send them my driving licence (both parts) and my CBT Certificate by recorded delivery. I can understand why they would need the CBT Certificate, but why on earth do they need both parts of my driving licence? It seems silly that they require this when they can surely check with the relevant authorities that I indeed have a driving licence, and that most people use the card licence as I.D. Can anyone shed any light? Jake

Evening all. I've been running for a while and I've got a couple races lined up (a 15km next weekend and a half marathon at the end of October). I'm considering taking a new challenge and entering a triathlon. The main problem I have is that I don't have a bike. I'm looking for a suitable road bike, not too expensive (around £400 or less). I'll need it to last me at least a couple of years. Basically I'm after your advice as to what would be the best thing to get?

That time of year again, set to run the Great Scottish Run, 1/2 Marathon, in October. Always choose a charity that affects me or my family. This year, I have chosen Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. Recently, my Auntie, also my God Mother, was diagnosed with leukaemia and is starting chemo this week. In the past, raised money for Cancer Research UK, however this year I've went more specific. The recent news has hit the family, especially my mum. Anyone wishing to donate, I would greatly appreciate it. Big or small, it all goes to a great cause. I'm getting married in July and it is as much of a DIY wedding as possible. We are not having it at a venue with a bar so we are going to have our own self-service bar area (it may well get messy). I thought the best thing to have would be to have polypins of beer (essentially half-sized barrels) in a row which people can come along and help themselves from. (I'll also have bottles of wine and lager-beer for those people who have some sort of personality defect that means they don't like real ale). Logic would, surely, dictate that polypins, involving less packaging and creating less waste than bottles, would be cheaper - but I am having a real struggle to find a good se…

I got a new debit card through the post this morning and it came stuck to a letter explaining all the usual things. I peeled the card off the envelope to find that the glue was not the usual type that is easy to remove but is stubbornly stuck to the card. Does anybody have any idea how to remove it?
