Second post of the day to do with driving whilst disqualified. Again, what are your working practices? Do you arrest said driver, take to custody and deal with it that way? I’ve had two incidents lately and I dealt with it as follows. Incident 1 - stopped driver, road side interview, report for summons, get back to the station and create “case file” such as MG05, MG06, MG11. Incident 2 - stopped driver, taken back to custody, non custodial interview, report for summons, released under investigation and again complete case file. What’s your working way?

Afternoon all. A very quick one from me. I am due to be off for a weekend (Friday to Sunday) in July this year. I am away on holiday as it’s my long weekend off and I won’t be in the UK. I don’t need to book any annual leave as it’s my rest days which works out quite well. I am concerned however that my rest days may be changed or altered for other duties such as shift changes or court commitments etc. I’ve emailed our duties and they’ve said there is absolutely nothing I can do to protect my days off and should I be required for court on the Friday for example then I have no choice but to attend. So, I’m sure many would have head the comments made by Phillip Hammond in relation to surging resources from other areas to tackle knife crime and moving away from lower priority crime. Now, this has got me thinking. This is a senior member of the government. If we then add in the obvious, 20000+ cops gone in the last 9 years, thousands of CSO’s gone, thousands of civilian staff gone and demand sky rocketing. As per the topic headline, I am currently Kent with an interest to move to Met. So, after reading here and elsewhere, I understand that stab vests and bulletproof vests are completely legal in the UK. I was given a stab vest to share my thoughts and opinions on it and I noticed it had plate pockets on it, so I figured I could find plates to weigh it down and actually make use of it while walking, as a weight vest since I am very overweight but do like walking and a weight vest seems a natural companion for additional weightloss and health improvements with little additional effort on my part. Hi all, I'm currently a PCSO at BTP in London. I have nearly finished my probation as a PCSO and have strong aspirations to move to PC. However, recently I have been thinking about trying to join the Met as a PC. And if that would be a better suit for me. I know each force has pros and cons, and I do enjoy working for BTP and as a PCSO in the force I am pretty much treated in the same way as a PC without their powers. In terms of going for PC I know staying with BTP would be easier and seems easier to progress to Sergeant etc. However Met will be more varied and possibly exciting. As any candidate knows these areas are being assessed at both stages. My struggle comes from understanding how much I need to learn for each respective stage. For example, whilst learning about the structure of Police Scotland you might come across Local Policing. In Scotland this is done under a Deputy Chief Officer. Hi, I hope you're keeping well, All being well I'm due to start as a Special constable shortly. I've always wanted to progress into that of a full time officer but have found it difficult to get past the initial paper shift in applications. Hopefully with the experience gained as a Special this should in theory be easier. My question is: As a Special are you able to apply for the role of a full time constable or do you have to wait for the next recruitment round and apply as a normal citizen etc? In theory my question is around internal promtion into paid full time constable work.
