The IOPC are advertising on PO for a lead investigator in their anti corruption unit. Initially I was surprised that they had their own anti corruption unit as I thought that all that would be done in house or by one force for another, but I then looked at the ad and bearing in mind it is for a London based job, and noticed that it only pays £33783 pa. For that they want someone with management of covert investigations among other skills. £33k doesn't seem like a very good salary for the experience they want and for the location of the job. Hi all, So I was speaking with some friends during a WhatsApp call the other night and we got to speaking about the new entry routes for police officers when starting. For those not already in the know there is now two routes either you don't have a degree in which case you follow a 3 year course whilst learning on the job, you're paid a little less or the degree scheme which is for those who already have a degree in any subject, you would work only 2 years before being accepted as a fully operational officer no longer in training and you're paid more. Hi All, I came back to my car in a shop car park to see a note with a telephone number apologising for my bumper. The bumper appeared to have some new scratches (there already a lot) and the bumper had popped out (has happened before). I popped it back in and texted the person to say thank you for the note but please don’t worry it was already damaged. They then replied saying they didn’t know what I was talking about and that there were scared someone had left their number maliciously. Hi All, I am currently a DC in Kent Police and having seen Lancashire are open for recruitment have put in an application for a transfer and have my interview tomorrow. Whilst I really enjoy my current position I am quite positive about the thought of moving back to the north and my home county, not least for the cheaper house prices so me and my patner could hopefully get on the housing ladder. Hi all, I am now coming towards the end of my 10 week tutorship on lpt, about 6 shifts left, it's gone soooo quick! Although at the start I was very overwhelmed and wasn't sure it was for me, I can say now that I'm finally enjoying it and my shift have been a good laugh. Typical I couldn't of felt like that maybe week 2 or 3 but hey ho. The only thing is, is that although I'm being signed off I still don't feel 100% confident doing things on my own or knowing what I'm doing without constantly asking questions. Hi everyone, I am about to start the degree holders programme in February. I am just wondering how common it is not to pass the probationary period? I am having last minute nurves about taking a 50% pay cut which I am happy to accept but clearly don't want to end up with the risk of no job. So the suspect would have had to drive quite far, plus being in a small village, a new car would stand out. And it was snowing so the roads would be hard to drive on. Hi all, I recently had a visit from a police officer who accidentally left his black West Yorkshire Police jacket overnight. I gave into the temptation of trying it on in the mirror, and honestly absolutely loved the fit and warmth of it. As much as I would love to wear one of these in my personal life, I'm not sure of the legal grounds of wearing one for absolute personal use. If I was able to legitimately source one of these jackets, would I be allowed to wear it over my regular clothes in the cold weather? Of course, I am not planning on impersonating an officer. Notput as news as it’s not quite news. There was a news headline a few days ago where, AFAIR, the CPS advised there had been no successful Covid legislation convictions, some had been withdrawn, appealed or pending decisions. I assumed that excluded the ones where the person paid a ticket without objection. Itsclear the media has gone quite on such things and I doubt it’s because everyone is suddenly compliant So, in respect of the post, had anyone seen or can recall the CPS comments and are there Jews on whether there will be widespread withdrawal of cases / fines in due course due to the poor and inadequate legislation?
