He speaks to Insider about his experience with drug dealing gangs, and how the drug market works. It's interesting to see how organized some of these people are, how much effort is put into running an efficient and profitable criminal enterprise. You could easily see certain dealers being quite successful legitimate businessmen if circumstances were different. Woods supports regulation of the drug markets as he feels that will take away the power from the gangs.

I was wondering... There's no (to the best of my knowledge) set format for court exhibits. Most seem to use the IJ/1 style of reference, but I know that Hampshire tend to use a more elaborate system with sub-references (eg for snippets of redacted BWV footage). I wondered what was used in your force? Is it dictated by the force or are you free to use what you wish?

I've been following the situation in Austria quite closely and it all looks quite grim. They were going to have a lockdown for the unvaccinated only, and some parts of the armed forces and police said they would refuse to enforce it principle, that it crosses a line and it isnt the kind of thing they signed up to do. Now the government is talking about making vaccination outright mandatory in law. For me thats really concerning. Medical procedures should be a free choice. I dont like the vaccine passport system either but at least theres still technically a choice, but it seems Austria now wants to outright make it a crime to refuse the jab. Does anyone know much about 'key worker housing', with regards to the police. Is there much actually offered to people? I am looking at places to rent in the SW of England now, (normal or key worker), but don't really understand what key worker is. Do any forces still help with accommodation (out of training), or do they signpost you on or just leave you to it? I often see these phrases on websites etc, but never met anyone who has used them and wonder if anyone could shed some light. It is a bit of a nightmare trying to rent somewhere before you join the force and likewise trying to police and then find a home is not ideal...

Hello all, I am currently a police officer in the met and have really been struggling to get on a response course. I am aware that there are some external places where people can do a level 3 response course. I was just wondering if anyone knows where I could do an external driving course (willing to fund this myself) and if it would be valid within the met. many thanks

I can see that there is now a very strange theme in GB of not many police stations (or equivalent, post in a Council building) etc and a strange mix of lack of custody suites, enquiry offices etc. Does this matter that much? I drive through villages regularly which still have the old police houses in, but no cops obviously anymore. It is a very unpopular move amongst public getting rid of stock, some of it is probably the right choice, but does it make a difference on the ground? I thought that this might be a time for a discussion about less-lethal I've been watching the new Channel 5 series (Code Zero: Officers Under Attack) and it seems assaults are now very bad on officers and PCSOs. It seems that PAVA/CS seems OK, but seems to cross-contaminate everybody. Batons seem next to useless as you seem to have to get close to use it and then it doesn't seem that effective. And that's it for most of them. Astonishing! Taser seems the best of the the three, but lots of them don't have it. They also seem to have to wait until probation is up. Seen this quite a few times and wondered what people think about it. To me it seems a bit unprofessional, a bit too "casual". Not a big problem though as long as the suspect is treated fairly, and in fairness it's a lot politer than some of the names the suspect calls them What do you prefer using when addressing people daily? Are your more or less casual with suspects than with witnesses?

Evening All, I have seen a number of topics and threads dotted about that make reference to mock KEEs and whitepapers, some making reference to 'Steve' at BATC. Whilst I have my own set of study/revision notes, I would like to have a shot at some mock exams. The BATC website seems to have been taken down some time ago, though I wonder if anyone has some of the material or a means of making contact with Steve? I have found an email address on a cached version of the BATC website and even if an email address cannot be provided, would be grateful if someone could confirm/deny whether the email address is still in use. Obviously PSD will have files on officers. Is there anyway we can request a copy of this on file? (E.g list of complaints, outcomes, potentially intel they have had). I know we can access HR records. (Posted this few weeks ago but deleted due to putting too much info on post)

Greetings all, Would really appreciate comments on the decision of the PCSO to stay in the property after witnessing the Katan's and RIF's in the premises, regardless of the occupants demeanour, also unhappy about his handling the weapons without gloves. Correct me if I am wrong because policy may differ from place to place, but weapons assessments are conducted by AFO's, why is there a PCSO attending, no BWV, no support... Very worrying. Just my two cents, I am happy to be told my thought process is wrong, but the NDM wheel came off on this one a long time ago for me.

Would it count as directed surveillance under RIPA to look at a suspects social media account to gather intelligence on their activities? By looking at their social media I mean just looking at what they publicly posted? What if they restricted it to friends and you created an account and added them as a friend just to get access?
