General Help

As the title says really, how do I stop putting off important things like revision and homework and going on things such as the PS3 and facebook? I thought the fact that I had to cough up £70 out of my own money to resit 3 exams from last year would make me revise, but it hasn't. Exams start in about 2 weeks and I need to revise over the next 2 weeks none stop, but as soon as I come home from college I know I will switch on the PS3/Come on here and on facebook. I need a little advice... I was driving home from work earlier today and a another driver was driving just a little behind. As we got off a round-about onto a national speed limit dual carriage way I went into the left hand lane (as there was a roundabout coming up ahead that required me to be in this lane in order to go straight on) and accelerated up to 70mph. He got off onto the right hand lane and proceeded to accelerate in order to over take me, I slowed down to 60mph as he came up beside me as I didn't want to race, as he pulled in front he had to slam on his brakes which caused me to go into the back of him (do note it was icy on the road). I am rubbish at shopping! need to get my dad something, have so far found a watch, that is it, but thats nowt. struggling now. stupid Christmas and my ability to think of gifts any ideas for something i can get?

My vehicle radio is a Motorola msc 2000, 450 mhz. It turns itself off and on at random intervals, it seems to cycle continuously through the self test then off and on again. the repair guy swears there is nothing wrong with it. I have noticed a little corrosion on the vehicle battery but it starts fine and the alternator looks good, I will by cleaning it with a can of diet coke when it warms up again, wouldn't think that should effect it buy who knows. Any advice is more than welcome.

Home from the pub and watching the greatest 100 toys on Ch4 so I apologise if this is the wrong place. Just seen a Police Inspector on the programme talking about adults or something fighting about the toy of the year. It was some years ago. The inspector didn't have any epaulettes but he did have two bath stars on his lapels and I was just wondering what force this was. Cheers.

Sometime ago when I was doing my housework I accidentally binned my passport, went to the Police station and reported it lost and was given a crime reference number. The only problem is now is that I have lost that reference number. Can this be replaced again as myself and my partner want to go to South Africa soon and i'm at my wits end with worry.

I am going to start tracing my family tree, will be doing my maternal side as my Dad has done his side. I've got as far back as my Grandad so a bit to go yet. If anyone on here has done this, any tips would be gratefully received. Is it worth registering on one of these tracing sites such as ancestry.co.uk or just better to go to actual official records? I can get a lot of information from my Mum which will give me a good start and my Grandad also wrote his memoirs which gives a lot of information about his parents. Good Evening everyone, I've recently started work at a care home and I really do enjoy it. However, I was made aware that my department manager is very offensive towards people and I was slightly prepared. However, last weekend his behavior got unacceptable. His hatred towards the agancy workers from Africa and has also become very homophobic towards myself. I know this has nothing to do with the police but hopfully someone can help me. I have been away from work for a while and some of our items of stock has been miss priced. As we have so much stock, i can;t really check everything, untill a customer wants to buy it and i have to inform them that the price is wrong. Normally when i tell them that the price is wrong they say that it's law that i have to sell them the item at the price is it marked up as. They are normally quite horrible people to communicate with when this happens. Could anyone point me in the right direction to the relevant peice of legislation . I've been looking on and off for quite a while at doing a distance learning postgraduate degree with some relevance to the job: something in criminology or law..... not really because I've got a great eye on going for promotion or anything like that - more for personal satisfaction. I read a lot of legal and police theory jut out of my personal experience and find it fascinating. Hey Guys I got a bit of a problem with a seller not on ebay, but on facebook. I bought two Art Prints off this person. A Nightmare on Elm Street one and Friday the 13th one and never got either of them. Bought the Nightmare one on the 20 September and they said it was posted on the 7th October. Paid for the Friday one on the 1st of October... Its now Nov 15th and i've got nothing... I piad for them through paypal in which i've put a claim for the Friday 13th poster. But i missed the claim date for the Nightmare poster cause i simply forgot about it due to me going though some peosonal issues.... But anyway. My friend is going through the same thing. Someone I know who has just been recently threatened to have a pertrol bomb put through their window, no witnesses and is absolutely pretrified for the safety of his flatmate and other residents in the building. Right I am afraid I need to rely on the older ones amongst us (of which I am unfortunately one of!!!). The film Wargames with Matthew Broderick in: Can anyone remember, or indeed know the name of the song at the END of the film. I have done a search myself but cannot seem to find it.
