So.. I always see posts from people in this section looking for support and help in getting into a Special Constabulary, however, one thing I would like is some support and guidance about what happens during/after attestation. My attestation is planned for 5th November 2015 and I can't see any problems with that... BUT! My main concern is what happens after that night. I've tried speaking to my tutors but they don't seem to make it very clear and all the reply I had was "you'll be sent to your chosen station for a induction" So does anyone have any experience in what exactly happens after attestation and you're officially sworn in? Hey all, I just wanted some opinions on the following situation. I applied to join the CNC in January when they opened their floodgates. I got my results back in May that I failed the initial papersift. Having just looked over at BTP's site I am now contemplating applying to their force. My questions are; Would the 6 month rule apply to my situation given that the deadline for BTP is the 3rd of July, can it be argued that I can now re-apply to the force? Given that forces don't accept transfers from CNC anyway would this not void the rule altogether? I had my special assessment today with the Met and I passed :). No onto the vetting. My brother had a criminal conviction for driving while disqualified. When they ask me about associate having convications and i write this, should i write a paragraph saying he made a mistake and he knew it. Since then he has not done anything wrong and he will not effect me in my role as a special. Thanks :)

Hi guys, I was looking at the vetting form and approached this question "Have you ever been the subject of a vetting procedure?" Does anyone know if Enhanced Certificate or also known as Criminal Record Certificate is a vetting procedure? Document looks like this

Finally the six weeks following my laser eye surgery have passed and I can send my specials application form. I am really looking forward to getting ball rolling at last! :D I know this isn't particularly relevant to the specials, but as I am wishing to join the specials with the intention of joining the regular police once I finish my degree I am wondering if it is worth doing the IAM advanced motoring course. I am tempted to do it for my own sake but wonder is it something that is worth putting on my application form? Thanks!

I've started my training to become a Special with TVP with the intention of moving on to the regular police. I had a look over the TVP website and now as well as having to do the CKP course you have to have gained FIP status before applying, thus putting my potential start time as a regular at around the end of 2017/start of 2018 (and that's if everything goes well). Hey guys not sure whether this has already been covered couldn't see anything. If I was to apply for one force and was successful at the assessment centre could i then use those results and apply for a different force without re doing the assessment centre?
