Hi all, Just a quick request for all new threads relating to PCSO recruitment to be placed in the 'PCSOs and Police Staff' area of the Forum which can be found here: http://www.policespecials.com/forum/index.php/forum/101-pcsos-and-police-staff/ This way all PCSO recruitment queries can be kept together and should prove useful for those seeking information about the role etc. I'll pin this up here to make everyone aware. Thanks all

I'm in the vetting stage and was wondering if anyone had done their training at Marlowe House? Both Hendon and Marlowe House are about the same distance for me, though MH would be an easier commute. I'm guessing the Saturday/Sunday training weekends are quite intense - do many people stop over in the Premier Inn next door?

Hi everyone! I’m in the process of becoming a Special Constable and had my medical assessment today. I was surprised as after my hearing test it came back as HSE category 2, I’ve attached a photo of my results can anyone advise if this will affect my joining? The occupational doctor said it shouldn’t be something to worry about but as this is something I’ve always wanted to do I’m anxious about it!

Hello. I am going through recruitment process for a Special with a HO force. A close relative has recently been arrested, bailed and released under investigation. No word yet on charges etc. Arrested by a different force to the one I am applying to. Vetting Dept have now said that their senior management has to look into it and will let me know of the result later. Will this affect my application? Thanks.

I've been a special for 14 years in Essex and in that time the only change to expenses has been to reduce the boot allowance from £40 per year to £50 per 3 years. The costs of living aren't what they were in 2007 and I'm looking to write to our command team to ask for them to be reviewed. Are the expenses paid to SC's set nationally or force by force? Thanks all, Steve
