Right, so, we've already set up a thread about the meet-up - a lot of positive comments as well as the negative ones. However! Not here to talk about the negative ones :D - we are here to talk about what will happen on the day... Now, me and SO!ME have had mixed responses regarding the treasure hunt we wanted to do, some people would prefer a beach & barbecue rather than going on a treasure hunt of London's 'historical' sights! Firstly, I wanted to tell you guys the original plan; it was to get into groups, each groups gets a set of riddles and they have to solve each one. The answer will lead them to the 'treasure' - at the end of the treasure hunt there would be a…

Just wondering what's everyone's biggest gambling win, for those that like a flutter. And how much was the stake? Mine was a £1.50 game at bingo, won the £30 full house for the £1 + £500 jackpot for the extra 50p.

A deer that became stranded on a frozen lake in Nova Scotia, Canada, is rescued by helicopter. The doe can be seen struggling in desperation to gain her footing on ice too thin for human rescuers to walk on. The helicopter rescue required a complicated manoeuvre, using the down draft of the propellers to blow the animal to the safety of the shore. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/video/2013/mar/01/deer-frozen-lake-helicopter-video?CMP=twt_gu

Dear All, I hope that you are all well and that you have had a good week. Thank you to everyone that attended the MOPAC meeting on Tuesday to discuss plans for future policing in Merton. The feedback I have seen so far is very positive and I am told that we have been the most attended venue in London. This shows me yet more evidence of how positively you view the police here in Merton. Judging by some of the points you made and questions you asked you are clearly also very well informed ! This week has been a very long and congested one for me. Several urgent things all happened at the same time, amongst others things I not only ran Operation Big Wing across Merton but…

Has anyone seen this new Facebook stupidity that is slowly becoming viral. I know it's a particular issue for a few towns in Somerset and wondered if anyone else has come across them. "Spotted - <Town name>" pages They are basically used to anonymously abuse and cyber bully people in the town. Most of the pages are "liked" by youngsters who then contribute to the bashing of the victim depicted in individual statuses. From looking at the users that have joined these pages, it's not hard to work out who is creating and running them - if it was anyone over 20 I'm sure they'd have a little more respect for their local community. The one for my local town encourages …

http://www.express.co.uk/comment/columnists/patrick-o-flynn/379692/Theresa-May-is-just-a-step-away-from-Number-10 - I nearly chocked on my Porridge when I read this, she is the last person we need as PM. What has she actually done since being Home Secretary, she has virtually ruined the best Police Force in the world, lowered it's morale to the lowest it has ever been. Appointed someone with no knowledge of how the police force works, i.e Winsor. Appointed a spineless Placeman as Commissioner, and introduced PCC's. The UK Border Agency is in turnmoil, immigration is rife, and foreign criminals are allowed to remain in the UK, because she doesn't have the balls to put …

Did anyone else watch Charlie Brooker's mini-series Black Mirror? There are three drama-comedy episodes, each of which deals with certain aspects of modern society and its relationship with technology. They deal with the subject matter quite cynically - as you might expect from Brooker - but there is a good balance between the drama and comedy. I thoroughly enjoyed the series anyway and thought I'd bring to the attention of folks who may have missed it (as I did, praise be to 4od!). In order of best to worst (in my opinion), episode number... 3. 'The Entire History of You' - "In the near future, everyone has access to a memory implant that records everything they do,…

Me & Butters decided, after having a conversation about hair that we needed somewhere to retreat from all the male dominated & inuendo laden threads, our ears & innocence could take no more Pen thought of the title, he is known for speaking the truth So this is the thread for all the women to retreat to to talk about fashion, clothes, makeup, shoes & all that sort of stuff & KB if you try & come on here in disguise it won't work, your moustache is far too recognisable If any guys do want to talk about makeup, clothes, shoes & hairstyles then you're welcome, we are an equal oppurtunities gossip group Girl*Next*Door2008-04-24 12:32:34
