Sunday League Football

Does anyone on here play Sunday league football whilst in job? I’m kinda getting the bug to run around a muddy field dodging piles of dog mess on a Sunday morning again but I’m well aware that training/match days won’t fit with shift work so well so I can’t make a 100% commitment Has anyone got any experience of playing whilst in job to give some advice on whether it can be made to work and is worth it? We’ve got our force team through the recreational association but I haven’t kicked a ball in 2 years and had 2 left feet then so doubt I would break into an 11 there!

Hey guys, I'm hoping on the forum there may be some that are in to fitness enough that you can perhaps give advice on protein powders and the such. I started getting fit a while ago which consisted mainly of running but I'm really unhappy with my physique and core strength so have started weight training. I'm wondering if anyone can advise whether it's time to start looking at the various powders on the market to help along with this. This is not something I've done before so any help is appreciated. Hey everyone so I've got my senior interview coming up next week and I was just wondering because I've read in multiple places about the bleep test and some have said to just go to the interview smart casual as I may have to run the bleep test straight away where as I've also seen bring a change of clothes? Which is it? The force I am applying for is Essex If that makes any difference? Terry

Please read the below every little helps and you could need their support on day.. On the 25th June 2016 I completed first of three obstacle courses! This was a 12km course in Leeds. The next two I'm doing are located in the Lake District, the first one on the 6th July 2016 is a 10km run up and down hills, swimming though water, crawling though deep mud and falling flat on your bum when you misplace your feet!! The next run on the 7th July 2016, without rest from the previous day is a little 10 mile run this includes a 4 mile fell run along with all the obstacles I did the previous day, now with more mud now 1,000 people have run over them! Total Warrior is the pinna…

Police Powerlifting Team
by adamwales- 0 replies

I have seen there is a BDFPA (British Drug Free Powerlifting Association) event for Public Services, which prompts the question: is there a Police team? Or is it down to forces / individuals? I am waiting for a start date for North Wales Police and am a keen powerlifter. I am planning on competing in September and would love to hear from any serving officers / staff / volunteers who are also powerlifters. Personally I am in the 100kg category, should be hitting total of >600kg (240 Squat, 140 Bench, 230 Deadlift) barring any injury / illness. Cheers, AW

fitness Monitor, Fitness Wristbands 1 2 3

So like many I need to lose some weight. I generally just need to get a bit more active. My Dr has recommended I get a fitness wristband or fitness monitor. I'm fully aware they don't do much but count things and keep a record of things for you, it is ultimately up to me to do something, but my Dr recommends it as a slow starter to help you see what you are doing and what more you could do. So what does the forum recommend? I quite fancy a Jawbone but which one I'm not sure. The fitbit seems quite popular but this may because it is on the cheaper end. I'm not necessarily looking for cheapest and definitely not the most expensive but I do want one…

Advice on heart rate watches

Is there any sports enthusiasts out there that have one of the above? I'm wanting one to use when running, cycling, hiking and canoeing as I'm starting to train in heart rate zones. I don't want one with a separate chest belt as it needs to be waterproof enough so you can swim in it (canoeing) and I find them annoying to wear. The ones I'm looking at are garmin forerunner 225, mio alpha 2 and the Tom Tom cardio. GPS isn't overly important but would be a nice addition, I also want it to sync with my iPhone. Any advice would be greatfully appreciated. Thanks.
