Hi All I'm starting with BTP in January in London, and as I'm relocating from Yorkshire I'll be needing to sort out some accommodation that doesn't cost a fortune. So far, I've got details of 2-3 housing associations but wondered if anyone has any further details of who to try or does anyone know of any person(s) with flat/ house/ room to let/ share preferably upto £650pcm (all bills included). Hi all, Registered here a few months ago while going through the recruitment process as a regular. After several months I've finally had confirmation that I've passed everything (yes!) and been offered a Jan intake which I've accepted. Just after some advice on whether there's anything I should start doing in prep for my start date or anything to get etc? Looking forward to starting my policing career in the New Year! I am aware some forces have dedicated file builders that do all the form filling, disclosure, etc. I'm trying to make contact with any forces that currently have dedicated file builders. We have a Criminal Justice team that send all the papers to CPS/Courts but it is down to the OIC to complete the full file. I've made a suggestion we look at having a dedicate team to build file and now need to speak to forces that have them! Please contact me if you think you can help. Thanks

Hi, I have applied for special Constable with West Midlands, I have the Video interview which I think I messed up but I am waiting for results for the interview which I hope I pass... always had dream of becoming a regular police officer then eventually going into firearms... but that’s far yet.

Just seeking some clarification. I know my force doesn't take in and record lost property these days, but does anyone know if any force does? Having a disagreement at my day job where they say every force does, and will issue a crime number for lost phones. As far as I'm aware all forces will record the loss as part of a crime, but if you just do A Stupid and drop it somewhere they won't.

Hello, I am a policing student and very new to the community. I have an internship in cyprus cid this summer. However I heard some of the students I go to university with saying that if I serve in another country's police force my national clearance level may decrease or I may not even get a job when I come back I the first place. You guys are like experts, does anyone have any idea if I am undermining my own carrer here. Some info about the internship: I will not be a sworn officer. I will be assisting regulars. Thank you.

Dear Police Community; Apologies if this is in the wrong group/thread. Has anyone applied for the College of Policing Fast Track scheme which closed on Wednesday 23rd of October 2019? If you haven't what are your thoughts and opinions. Background ## I have applied for the scheme with less than 5 years service in my role. With the ever increasing presence of Direct Entry (inspectors/superintendents) in the work force, I find it is paramount for future leaders to apply earlier on in their service in order to make a difference. If I carry a weapon in self defence and is given a suspended sentence by a judge,will this affect new job opportunities for me in the Uk?

If I was given a suspended sentence for carrying a weapon in self defence and a judge gives me a suspended sentence. A criminal record will result. Does getting a criminal record mean I’m a bad person?

If I’m carrying a weapon for self defence for the first time, and a magistrate gives me a suspended sentence, it doesn’t mean I’m a criminal. Suspended sentences are usually given to people, in the hope that they will do it again. It is to make a person learn the lesson that it is not acceptable and a suspended sentence can be done out of sympathy. Basically, the magistrate is saying in passing a suspended sentence that you broke the law (out of fear) to do a good deed (self defence), and to teach a lesson that it is not acceptable. Carrying a weapon in self defence for the first time might be breaking the law, but it doesn’t make me a criminal. I want to m…

Colleagues, I have about 12 months service as a Constable with the Police Service of Northern Ireland. In the PSNI, when you pass out from the training college, everyone is sent to response. No one likes being in response for reasons why I will go on to outline in a moment. The coveted roles, available only to Con's outside of probation are the Neighbourhood teams, road policing teams, various crime/pro active teams, investigative departments, Firearms etc. One of the most stressful things about working response is the investigation of the crimes you pick up, all the way to court.
