I just flicked onto the above show on Channel 5 - following TfL ticket inspectors/enforcement. I am presently making a podcast documentary and I am trying to fact check. I have encountered the issue whereby the information I need dates back to 2005 and so the press office and present police officers cannot help. The case I am making a documentary about involves a 999 call in 2005 from Manchester ( on a train) for a welfare check on an individual in London ( Wandsworth) . Having been assaulted again last night I'm starting to think maybe I should start applying for compensation. Is it worth while for minor assaults? I.e punches/kicks etc.

I've always thought that washing hands after going to the toilet for both no. ones and no. twos was a good idea and nowadays even more so. I have therefore been surprised twice recently when I've been in the toilet at work when one of my male colleagues had a poo and then left without washing his hands! The same thing happened after another officer had a wee! These are probably the same muppets who have been stripping supermarket shelves of loo paper whilst opening chiding other people for doing the same thing. I thought I worked with intelligent people who I'm beginning to doubt that assessment.

Hello, Can anybody direct me towards some stated cases where an offender has been prosecuted for theft shoplifting without actually leaving the store with the items they have secreted on their person. I'm in discussions with a security guard that will not accept my argument that he could stop suspects before leaving the store, or *shock horror* step in before the theft and actually prevent a crime! Thanks for any help.

As a Detention officer there are three powers/legislation that i can use to justify the use of force; one being, designated power; second being, common law and there is a third as well but i can't recall this. It was on OST when i was told this but, i forgot exactly what it was called. It may have been section 33 but i might have that confused. Anyone able to help?

I work as a response cop in a home office force. Our current model means response cops carry an investigation workload as well as responding to calls. My investigations are usually sourced from jobs I go to and can't deal with completely at the time of attendance; or members of public reporting crimes to 101 which then get allocated out. Last week I was allocated a new report to investigate. The job has been passed over by Border Force. Does the Section 172 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 requirement provide sufficient evidence of an offence being committed on the basis of one eye witness in Scotland? The scenario being as follows: a single crewed officer in Scotland stops a car and it comes back on PNC as having no MOT or insurance or the driver has no driving licence etc. The officer asks for assistance and another officer attends and 172's the driver who identifies themselves. Is this sufficient evidence to caution and charge the driver with the offence and report to the Fiscal?
