As some aware on here I've bene trying for around 2 years to get into the specials. I received my vetting back this morning and it was a fail, this time with a different force as I moved area and this time with an explanation. I can appeal however the likely hood of me being able to put a full explanation across is low. I failed due to them finding records thst I have assocations wiht supporters of far right groups. I'm not sure if this means friends or if I have bene before. Im 25 in April however I can not deny that at the age of 15/16 up to 18ish I was a very stupid child and didn't fully understand what I was doing,I did add myself t…

Hello, I've noticed on the application form it asks if you've ever been 'involved in a criminal investigation'. My first question - what is a 'criminal investigation'? Basically, I was recently charged and acquitted at the first court hearing with the offence of driving with excess alcohol. I've been told that this is not considered a 'criminal' offence, but rather a 'motoring offence'. So if this is the case, would it need to be mentioned in this question? I know it would have to be disclosed - I'm just wondering at what stage. Next question - will this have a detrimental effect on my application? I don't have a criminal record and I'd never been in trouble before. …

Hi, Is there anyone on here that had to wait for their GP to write a report before they were given the green light by the OHU? The reason I ask is because all I'm waiting for is my medical to be signed off so I can start training as a SC at the beginning of September. I just want to know how long it took for your GP to respond? I've literally got under 3 weeks for them to respond! Thanks in advance Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

Hi all, I'm a 21yo male who plans on applying to the special constabulary for the BTP at some point in the future. Last April, I received a Community Resolution Order for damages (after following some stupid advice). I have no convictions, cautions, arrests, reprimands or financial issues, and my criminal record is completely clean. Will the CRO bar me from applying to become a constable, given it was one stupid little error and I have no other offences? Does the Special Constabulary allow you to explain any order you have been given to make a decision based on that? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

Hi All, I attended a event last night to find out more about the specials after attending a ride along just before Christmas. I was given an application form after the event and I am quite happy with the competency questions to fill out because I have a close family friend who is superintendent so he will be helping me out with answering the questions and will be giving me guidance. My question however is regarding the vetting process and how they view each case. First offence - I am now aged 20. when I was young, aged 13 I got in with the wrong crowd and they basically bullied me into stealing money from by dads bank account, after NatWest put a complaint…

Could anyone point me in the right direction, as to where I might find examples of the tests I will face at the special constables assessment centre? I have not taken one of these tests before and I really don't know what to expect.

Hello guys, I would like to ask if, in the vetting process, the police checks someone's details in another country. For example, I am greek. Would the police contact the greek police authorities to verify my details? Many thanks in advance, Spiros

Hello everyone, I had my assessment today and fortunately and now I'm in the process of vetting. However the form that Met Recruitment sent me cannot be opened. It says that I should wait for the page to redirect but it doesn't do anything. Does anyone have any advice on this? Many thanks, Spiros

Hi guys, I am interested in applying to become a special constable but I have a few questions. So a little bit about me, I'm 23 years old and just graduated from university. I haven't had much work experience.. or life experience really but this is something I have wanted to do for a while. The main thing stopping me is concerns about failing vetting and therefore wasting everyone's time. So I'll start by saying I have no convictions, cautions, reprimands or criminal association (that I know of). I've never been bankrupt or anything like that either! However just over 4 years ago, I was charged with two traffic offences. One was driving without insurance (Basically …
