I'm 24 and have decided to apply. I have thought about it for a while and am going through the application form. I have one arrest here - drunk and disorderly when I was 18 and just got a penalty notice the next morning and have no problem about declaring that. I am sure I am not the only one to have that. That is my only offence - I don't think it even counts as a conviction. What I am worried about is something that happened 4 years ago while I was in the USA. It says to give details if you were involved in a criminal investigation. I want to be honest but am worried it will mean them thinking something like 'no smoke without fire'. I got arrested and because…

Hi I'm starting as a Special with Cumbria Constabulary this Friday (10th March), just wondering if anyone else is starting on this date? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

2 Questions: 1) Does anybody know how regularly Cheshire Constabulary recruit for Special Constables? 2) Is anybody aware what the training programme is like in terms of days, weekends, residential etc? I've had my heart set on becoming a Special Constable with BTP, but recently found out all basic training is conducted during the week on 4 separatre residential modules this July in LONDON. Personally I find this ridiculous as for most people this would mean using up their whole holiday entitlement in one go. I run my own business and whilst this means I can be flexible and offer a lot of spare time should I successfully make it as a Special, I canno…

Well today's the day... It's the first round of assessments for North Yorkshire Police specials. I've been waiting for a long time to even make it to this stage having always fallen at the first hurdle (so to speak) and not passing the initial application stage. I know it's only stage one but to be honest, I never thought I'd make it this far, this being the forth or fifth time of applying over the past 13 years or so. I'm doing everything possible to ensure I make it all the way though, even running to improve fitness. I managed to run a sub 9 minute mile the other night which for me, at (only just mind) over 16 stone was a massive achievement. I'm looking forward to…

hi I am nate I applying to Lincolnshire police for the second time last time I made it to interview but this time struggling with the competency questions could anyone please help or guide
-
With the application form, structured interview and final interview, there are at least two parts of the SC recruitment process that involve competency based questions. Does anyone have any experience of if it's possible a question or two say from the application form, will be repeated in either of the interviews? If so, would you be expected to provide a different answer to the one used on your application? And also, would you say it was acceptable to use an answer on your form to answer a different question in interview (assuming of course that answer was also relevant to the interview question)? Any advice or experiences appreciated, thanks

Evening all, I've sat the reg SEARCH AC before but was unsuccessful at getting the 60% required for my home force. I've got another AC coming up, with the same role plays as the previous (well the surnames are the same). Does anyone know if they rotate interview questions at the same time as the role plays? I'm just wondering whether im likely to have the same questions for the interview as last time. Thanks in advance!

Hi there, I'V just discovered this forum and it's my first post. I'm going to be applying to the Police but I want to start raising my fitness levels now. I'm a healthy weight but I'm pretty skinny. A practice bleep test had me drop at 4.5 and the Police requires 5.4 so what can I do to push my self to this level?

Hi all Came acorss this forum as I'm curruntly in the process of trying to become a special. I have passed the application stage and I'm now due to go to the assesment centre for the next stage. I'm a bit concerned though I have filled in the securtity vetting form and have listed Iv'e had 2 speeding ticket last year on one I went on a course and the second got points these are the only ones Iv'e ever had so only got 3 points. I also had to get a debt relief order 5 years ago which I feel may also effect me passing vetting. Now my worry is that I know they treat every application on a per case basis but have been doing a little research and everything seems to point …

Hi everybody. I'm so happy to announce that I've been accepted on the march in-take to start my training as a special constable. I've passed all my tests and fitness test and have even had my uniform fitting which I must say is so cool ( big kid moment). My question to you all is , I am dyslexic and do struggle to take information in and stay in. My reading is ok but it does take me a couple of reads to understand and retain what I've read. Could any of you recommend any books or good websites which my help me get a little head start. P.S. this forum has been a great through my application period. Many thanks Sent from my iPhone using Police Community
