Can anyone throw any light on the oft repeated story that a university graduate joined the met police, got top marks in all exams/tests and was awarded the baton of honour (assuming the met have such an award) and was given their choice of posting, only to reply that they were leaving and had only joined as a way of getting somewere to live and earn some money until they went back to uni? It made me chucke when i heard it but have ofter wondered if it was true.

The murders in Ipswich have gotten me thinking. With so many murderers (specifically) not being caught for their crimes - it is because the culprits are really clever, and know how Police Forces work, and they undermine the Police? Or is it they're just lucky that there is circumstantial evidence, rather than hard evidence in a lot of cases, so prosecution cannot be proved?

In America there is a so-called 'Weight Loss' Tea being peddled called 'Woo Long Tea'. Back in the 1980s there was this Australian Scamster called Kevin Foster (same bloke as was mixed up with Tony & Cherry Blair), who was flogging a product called 'Bai Lin Tea' and making similar claims. the name 'Woo Long Tea' is coincidentaly very close..... Do you beleive in coincidences?? As stated, this 'Tea' is being peddled around the States, and it could soon be peddled in the UK. With the current scare of obesity and desparate people trying to loose weight. It could be that any Scamsters willing to try to flog this 'Wu Lin' or 'Wu Long Tea' could make a finacial killi…

But vitally important for you men out there at this time of year An army of macho men will be patrolling the smalls section of a major department store to prevent the blushes and blunders of blokes picking up sexy undies for their wives or girlfriends for Christmas. Specially trained staff will appear in M&S lingerie departments to give shoppers "man to man" advice. Men buying underwear for wives and girlfriends prefer dealing with male members of staff, the chain said. It gets the highest volume of returned lingerie items after Christmas, often because they are the wrong size. Nearly 200 "stocking fellas" will appear in the lingerie depart…

A prisoner is calling for a ban on prison officers wearing festive hats at Christmas. Jamie Chapman said that officers in Father Christmas-style headgear "rubbed salt in the wounds" for inmates missing relatives over the festive season. Mr Chapman, at Onley Prison, near Rugby in Warwickshire, made his comments in a letter to a newspaper for inmates. He said it was "the last thing prisoners want to see" when they leave their cells on Christmas Day morning. He added: "Would it be possible to get a blanket ban on prison officers wearing those silly Father Christmas hats they tend to don at this time of year? "Mostly we are away from family and friends on …

Hi Gentlemen, It really seems morale is low there. Let me introduce myself. My name is Claire and my brother has been a police officer here in New Zealand for 10+ years. Being a police officer is not an easy job, I know and understand the life. I served in the Royal New Zealand Air Force, it was a great life where morale was very high - I would like to offer support and friendship. I'm 41, I single parented for 10+ years, my two children are 20 and 18 and have grown up and left home now and after two bad marriages, I live alone and independently. I am ambitious and hard working. I enjoy driving my Ford Laser car and riding my 900cc Triumph Trophy m…

Royal mails and the NU Labour Government of Mr Blair has been announced further proposed cuts to the network of rural and urban sub-post offices. A 'Bad Thing' or a 'Good Thing'. Where do these communities go for the various services that the Post office current support. Not everyone wants or has a computer, or a car to travel to other towns and villages where there is a Sub-Post Office. Is this NU Labour government the worst administration ever since WW2. And is Mr Blair an "Urban Spaceman" --- a man bedevilled with his own "Worldview" and lving in his own "Reality"? Well --- is this what we are to expect from the 'fouled up incompetence' of Mr Blair's sleazy, lyin…

Calling all pipers or those involve in a pipe band. Thought I would try and get us all together to exchange thoughts, ideas and tunes. Likewise, those interested in becomming a piper or drummer, touch base and get in touch. Not in a police pipe band in deepest darkest Cornwall, but a piper in a band and looking for enlightened bods!

Well I could not see a thread for people to send their Christmas wishes and thoughts, so thought I would start one here... "Now, DASHER! now, DANCER! now, PRANCER and VIXEN! On, COMET! on CUPID! on, DONNER and BLITZEN! To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall! Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!" A Very Merry Christmas to all, and remember this Christmas, enjoy the simple things.... Backlash2007-09-26 10:14:38
