It is an absolute disgrace that Cherie Blair, QC., goes to Saudi Arabia, on a private visit, to give speech, and gets paid £25,000 for doing it. She had two police protection officers, and a civil servant, paid for out of the public purse, and half by the Labour Party, on a private engagement. The cost of the police officer's should have been paid for by Blair herself, and the treasury should be re-imbursed for the cost of the Civil Servant. It looks as if the Blair's are trying to eek out every penny they can from the tax payer, before he leaves office. Blair's talk of ethical government is starting to look a little weak. The program header was Cherie Booth QC, wife …

Check out the below Dutch website where there are two pictures of the same scene yet, bizarrely, there are supposed to be five significant differences. I have found just two . If anyone can list three you are cleverer than Brutus and, if you can find all FIVE, then you are a complete genius . BTW - there is supposed to be music, but I couldn't hear any http://members.home.nl/saen/Special/zoeken.html BrutusBrutus2007-03-24 21:56:08

Interesting news flying around about bank charges being 'illegal'. It appears you can claim back as far as 6 years. Take a look at www.g3m.co.uk I am in the process of applying to my bank now, for a period that covered a messy divorce - I'll keep this post updated on my progress.

Interesting report on BBC Website that Harry came out of a night club, and pushed a photographer, then fell on top of him. The photographer claims he was assaulted, Clarence House sheds a different light on it. Harry came out of the Night Club, tripped on the pavement, and fell on top of the photographer. Harry does leave himself open to claims of being immature with all the incidents he has been involved in. I thought the Army may have helped him grow up a little.

Any comments on this? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/4080162.stm A controversial South African invention, a female condom-like anti-rape device, is almost ready to hit the market after months of waiting for patent verification. The device, known as Rapex, has stirred controversy around the world but its inventor, Sonnet Ehlers, is preparing the final pre-production phase after seven years of waiting. The controversy has raged over whether the device, which has fish-like teeth that attach to the head and shaft of the penis, is a medieval device built on a hatred of men or whether it is an easy-to-use invention that could free millions of South African wo…

sorry this isn't police related but it made my blood boil anyway. Last night the BBC carried a news story about a female convicted for child abuse/cruelty and was awaiting sentencing. During the broadcast the news reader made reference to the females religion (she is a Jehovah's Witness). Can anyone explain why this should have any bearing on the news item? Like I said not a police topic but possibly a police issue regarding race/religion? BTW: just for the record I'm not a JW so I have no personal motivation for posting this, just in case you were wondering.

There appears to be an undercurrent that members of the forum are being excluded or removing themselves for fear of exclusion / expulsion. I am really seeking clarification here about this process. Who makes the decision to exclude an individual? Is the decision a collective one or made by an individual? Is there any right of appeal? Stan' gave a very open explanation of the thread closure situation - I wonder if someone can do something similar on the exclusion issue?

The Attorney General manages to get a Court Injunction to stop the BBC commenting on a ''found'' e-mail, which might incriminate someone at no 10. According to the AG it was the Met Police that asked for it, so it did not compromise the inquiry. I don't argue with that. What is disturbing is that the Attorney General(a pal of Blair) wanted an injunction to stop the BBC and others from even reporting that there had been an application for an injunction. I WONDER WHY.
