I'm beginning to notice Far Too Much flirting in these threads. They're beginning to steam! Lowering the tone. Perhaps we should have a special place for flirting, and shove those flirts in here. eg, NMO, what was it you were saying about baths..... Sit yerself down, make yerself at home Biker Girl, was that a wink I saw from Wee Man??? Get in here both of you! Chickensoup, this should be your second home. In fact, I'm not sure the thread is large enough for your conquests... Bring your posse with you... including M&MBM2007-03-21 13:57:48

Retired Police Civilians on Pension will be glad to know that the annual rate of increase this year[2007/2008] is 3.6%. I phoned Essex County Council offices and they told me the good news. It more than I thought, better than a 'kick in the cods' by Mr Brown & Co, but then everything else has gone up including Council Tax.... "What the Lord Gordon giveth us, the Lord Gordon Takest Away again!!" ... "Cussed or Blessed be the Treasury Knurd-Brains!" The same rate of increase is accross the board for Civil Service and Armed Forces Pensions, but these may vary depending on the Rank/Grade that the Pensioner retired at. (From London Lite newspaper 16/04/07 - page 2) A council is to spend about £20,000 building two totem poles in public parks. Sutton council has been granted permission to put up the 18ft (c6m) oak scupltures, which it says will enhance the open spaces. The move comes as the Liberal Democrat controlled council has disbanded its parks police service, leading to accusations the structures, sculpted by Walter Bailey, are a waste of money. ............................. Nice to see local politicians getting their priorities right, eh? Presumably they expect the totem poles will invoke the spirits of the Wobbly Knee native Americans, & their calming …

In my 3rd (as yet unpublished etc yawn) novel, I have someone have their internet access hijacked and used to download porn. I wasn't sure if it could actually be done and sure as hell wasn't going to try. Well.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hereford/worcs/6565079.stm

I wish people would get their facts right about the Police. A young lad drowned in a river in Debyshire, and a Mrs Throw's son dived in to try and rescue the lad. A brave atempt by anyone's standards. She said that her son had said the police took an hour to attend. Derbyshire police records show that the first officer arrived at the scene after 18 minutes, and FIVE others arrived two minutes later. 10 minutes can seem like a life time under stressful circumstances, but it would have been nice if Mrs Throw had waited for the facts before spouting off her criticism.

A City trader was forced out of her job because of a culture of sexism, a tribunal has hear Ms Tofeji, from Brentwood in Essex, worked in the foreign exchange unit. She claims she was treated badly after announcing her pregnancy in November 2004. The tribunal heard her appraisals and bonuses did not reflect that she had been outperforming her colleagues. Her 2005 bonus was £40,000, lower than the £55,000 bonus and £10,000 salary increase she received in 2003. "So many years I had worked for them, loyal and ambitious, with no thanks for it," she said. No thanks....no thanks.....I wish I was given £105,000 in bonues ALONE in two years! She wan…

Oh, dam it! They've really collared me this time IAN JOHNSTON ENVIRONMENT CORRESPONDENT (ijohnston@scotsman.com) THE long arm of the law has collared one fugitive and is closing in on the second. For the Bridge of Earn Two - beavers living illegally in the wild - the game is almost up. DNA tests were being carried out yesterday to determine whether the captive beaver was an American or European and also as evidence in a police investigation into who released them into rural Perthshire. Supporters had hoped the animals had gone on the run when the Scottish Executive decided the beavers - which set up home on an island in a fishery loch near Bridge of Earn - must b…

I've just had a peep at the headlines. Just look how many involve violence http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/default.stm What a sad reflection of the society we live in. The scary thing is, I bet it's like this all the time. It just doesn't get reported because something more "newsworthy" pinches top slot. Is it my imagination, or are more children turrning into murderers nowadays?
