Some of you may have seen this story on the BBC about a guy who was arrested for swimming naked in a Slovenian fountain. Basically he was locked up and faced the prospect of missing his wedding. No doubt in a cynical attempt to court sympathy, the bride to be went to the local press. I think it may not have had the reception (pardon the pun) that she expected. Read the comments from some readers here. You may spot a familiar name amongst them.

A missionary is sent into deepest darkest depths of Africa to live with a tribe. He spends years with the people, teaching them to read, write and good Christian values. You are the only white man who has ever set foot in our village. Anyone can see what's going on here!" The missionary replies, "No…

The flame will be contained in a large, overturned police van situated on the roof of the stadium. THE EVENTS In previous Olympic games, East London 's competitors have not been particularly successful. In order to redress the balance, some of the events have been altered slightly to the advantage of local athletes. 100…

I know there was a previous thread about Sir Steven Richards and his calvin Kleins, but I can't find it offhand. There's an update. Something which interets me is a remark about BTP not obtaining CCTV evidence,. The report doesn't go into details; He blamed British Transport Police (BTP) for failing to investigate the allegation promptly or thoroughly. Judge Workman said had they been able to obtain CCTV "that evidence may well have supported her identification and, equally, may have exonerated Sir Stephen". but it actually brings up an important point I discovered recently. I assumed that the CCTV on buses etc was on tapes like council run CCTV, …
