A colleague of mine is getting married today, so last night we went out with a couple of other friends for a meal in an Italian restaurant. At about 11.10pm I returned to my table after visiting the loo when the heel of my shoe got stuck in a tiny hole in the loosely-fitted carpet and I was sent flying into a table that was piled with mucky pots waiting to go into the kitchens. I ended up with bolognese sauce decorating my cream linen jacket and matching trousers. It may be comical to read but I was so shaken and upset by it that I had to be taken home. I've been lying awake all night because this has been on my mind and I'm still feeling pretty rattled (it's now 5.…

From the Daily Mail 21/06/07 Muslims are deeply offended by the news that Salman Rushdie has been awarded a knighthood. "Thank you for the offer, but when the time comes I must limit myself to gently tapping the sword on Mr Rushdie's shoulder."

After Tony ordered the cessation of the SFO corruption enquiry, which quite clearly merits a FULL investigation, Blairs pals in the US have started their own enquiry , which in itself is something i welcome ! I wonder how Blair feels now, and realises how stupid he once again looks , having in my opinion obstructed justice during this enquiry ! Blair has been only too happy to prostitute himself on behalf of his great friends over the water, and has established what can only be described as a one way relationship ! His pals have refused to co operate with Coroners inquests in the UK into the deaths of servicemen and women and he did nothing to coerce them into co operat…

Here's a story from the BBC. basically a bull mastif cross ran amok, injuring a small boy. The owner received a 3 month suspended jail sentence, and had to pay £4,200 compensation.. The boy's parents said the sentence was a joke. Actually, having read the circumstances, I think it's an appropriate sentence. This was a woman of previous good character whose dog wasn't anything more than a family pet, not some pit bull monster bred for fighting. It sounds as if the dog was well cared for and well loved. It just flipped, and a horrible accident ensued. If the defendant had been reckeless with the animal, or had not priovided for the dog;s needs, or had in any w…

"I couldn't settle in Italy — it was like living in a foreign country." Ian Rush reveals the reason behind his failed spell at Juventus. "I'd like to play for an Italian club, like Barcelona." Former Aston Villa playmaker Mark Draper points out where Ian Rush went wrong. "The important thing was we got the three points." Silverware clearly means nothing to Chelsea's Wayne Bridge following their Carling Cup final win against Arsenal. What is more worrying is that at no point on the way to the game did he ask anyone why they were playing at the Millennium Stadium that day. "I was watching the Blackburn game on TV on Sunday when it flashed on the screen that Geor…
