The Nuffield Council on Bioethics said it is "unjustified" to keep people on the National DNA Database when they have not been convicted of any offence. Some four million DNA samples are on the police's database. Earlier this month a leading judge called for the whole of the population to be placed on the database. Anyone here have a knowledge of arachnids? I found a very pretty spider in the boot of my car after going shopping this afternoon. It was quite big and had a round, almost spherical black body with very long legs. It also had three irregular red patches on its body. I picked it up and took it outside and let it go and it scurried off. I've never seen one like it before - ever! It was so unusual, my youngest daughter wanted to take it home and keep it as a pet and call it Vince. Brutus

I recieve regular text messages from friends (some coppers others civilian). More often than not they are jokes that are related to current news events. For example; about twenty minutes after pavorotti died I get a text 'joke' message on my phone. Personally I found it hilarious... does that make me a bad person? I think Pavarotti was a legend with an amazing voice but at the same time I can see the humour in anything. Have any of you been offended when reading/hearing such an offensive joke? Do any of you believe that jokes against ethnic minorities/tragic news events are awful in the extreme
