What an arrogant, pompous man is that Alistair Darling. After the government, through the Civil Sevice, lost the CD's with 25 million names, bank details etc, he has told the Banks that if there is any fraud involved through the loss, they will have to pay the money back. I think thats abit rich considering his department lost the CD's. The government should pay for any losses. It looks as if the Banks will go to the High Court if Darling tries for enforce the payments.

The Oxford Union have invited David Irving and Nick Griffin(BNP)to give a talk at their conference. As much as I have no time for either man, or their policies, I think they are entitled to go and speak, if people don't like what they have to say they can always walk out. We have that pompous twerp Trevor Phillips saying they should be banned from speaking. I always thought we has free speech in this country, even if we don't like the contents. The Oxford Union have so far said that the invitations still stand. I'm sure that if either of them steps out of line the Police will be quick to react.

I don't have an account with them First of all they loaned money to potentially problem payers. Then they got in the mire. Then the Bank of England said they would loan them money at punitive rates. Then the customers withdrew their monies in droves. Today the government are saying they will guarantee investors money. Why is the tax-payers money (that means OUR money) being offered to bail out a firm with questionable business practices. If it was a car manufacturer it would go to the wall. Maybe the government have a guilty conscience for not overseeing it properly in the first place?
