British Transport Police given ‘stop and spray’ powers of deodorisation Under newly granted powers of deodorisation, Chief Constable Andrew Trotter has announced, British Transport Police officers will be equipped with industrial strength deodorant and empowered to ‘stop and spray’ malodorous passengers across the country’s rail network. In addition, BTP officers patrolling the London Underground will be able to call upon the services of an elite Rapid Rinse Unit. These specialist cleansing officers are to be armed with high pressure washers and military grade carbolic soap and – when dealing with the most odoriferous and noxious commuters – will also be authorised to…

I've just seen this new drama series which has started on BBC called Happy Valley, it follows a PS from West Yorkshire in Hebden Bridge. I've yet to watch the first episode but it looks well done (correct uniform etc), even though her collar number starts with a 9 so makes her a Special technically! You can watch the first episode online now... http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b042r1k2/happy-valley-episode-1

Hi all, Just been looking back through old posts on the forum as haven't been here since around 2008. Found a few posts similar to this but being around 2 years old I am unsure on the necropost rules of the forum. After being on a site where an incident occurred that then made all lone working employees have to wear a stab vest in lone worker conditions. Being Ex- forces, I also take pride in my appearance and how I perform my job role. I am currently doing Security (once I've taken my upskilling course next week thanks to legislation changes) whilst at university finishing my Masters degree. The attached picture is my old stab vest from around 2009 ish that I now lon…

As I understand things a decision is fairly imminent regarding the Fire Service (and Police) dispute regarding the failure of the Government Actuary Dept (GAD) to update the lump sum figures for pensions commutation between 1998 and 2005. I have been told by an old friend in the Fed that retirees' like me (2007), could, if things go well, be likely to receive a substantial lump sum paymentassuming the Ombudsman finds in our favour. I cannot see much information anywhere other than on NARPO's site. I would be interested in anybody's thoughts on this matter. It seems quite a big issue that not everybody seems to be aware of.

Well done to TheJazzPolice for winning the March photography competition and as always, the winner gets to choose the next topic which will be... *jazz piano riff* A SPRING MORNING The Rules Photos to be entered on this thread between now and 21:00 on the 24th April 2014. Judging will then be from 24th April until probably around 21:00 on 30th April 2014. The rules are mostly the same as previously: 1 - The submitted photograph must be your own work. If you're interpretation of the theme is a little left of centre, then please use a catchy title to help us with your train of thought. 2 - Group members may only submit one entry per month to the competition. 3…

I have the theme to 'Beadle's About' stuck in my head just now! (For younger patrons - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnpo2jzhf5A) Strange how the mind works; the only reason that I can think of to explain it, is that I had the words 'watch' and 'out' in my head, in that order!

Seems like he has hours left in the job, always thought he was the wrong man for the job, what was Fergie thinking recommending someone who had no experience at the top level. Klopp for me is a certain favourite for the job, however I would not discount Fergie coming back.
