So earlier today someone had hit my end of my car pretty hard, but caused very little damage. After exchanging details and phoning my insurance, my dad says I Should phone the police to inform them about it. Do I need to phone the police?

Steady! The title is referring to second businesses or hobbies that make a bit of money which you can run alongside your police career. I'm just curious really as to what others do to help pay for the summer holiday! Obviously specials are different to regs in this area, but input from one and all is gratefully received!

The last two days I've been watching Season 1 of 'Under the Dome' (a program based on the book by Stephen King), back to back. All was going really well until I watched the first Episode of Season two. Spoilers Approaching... And oh my days! They kill of one of the main characters within the first 10 minutes of the episode! WHAT THE HELL! Now while I know it's increasingly popular just to randomly and unexpectedly kill of characters is it necessary to do it in such an unrealistic and horrible way?! This character when through the entire first season well, and then suddenly BOOM! Almost as if the writers (Stephen King ironically for this episode) just wanted to laugh at u…

One thing I have found that irritates the hell out of me is the locations of peoples satnavs whilst driving. Im sure the law states "in a place that does not obstruct your view". To which in my opinion should mean it should be low in the corner of the windscreen and not under the rear view mirror or smack bang in the middle of the windscreen! Any other takers on this?

Well done to Mike Lima for winning the May photography competition. As always the winner, gets to pick the next theme and he has picked a classic: "Water. Being rain, rivers, oceans or dewdrops." So go on, knock yourselves out... (well not literally, that would be dangerous around water and all. You might drown...) The Rules Photos to be entered on this thread between now and 21:00 on the 25th June 2014. Judging will then be from 26th June until probably around 21:00 on 30th June 2014. The rules are mostly the same as previously: 1 - The submitted photograph must be your own work. If you're interpretation of the theme is a little left of centre, then please use a…

Well thanks to everyone for voting. The results of the poll were that either Saturday the 28th or Sunday the 29th of June would be the best days. As such, there's one final poll to decide which one it is. This will be the last poll, I promise. As for location, it was a close call between Rah's House and a bar somewhere near a London Terminal. MTG mentioned a pub he knew that was near Victoria I believe? Anyway, we'll pick somewhere within walking distance of Victoria/Waterloo/etc so those who need to exit London sharpish afterwards can. So, place your votes. Poll closes on Friday (6th June). If it's a tie, or a close call, we'll just do a two day bender and go out both…

Birmingham’s busking bobby becomes a UK Point of Light A Brummie bobby who uses his talent for singing to help the homeless has been recognised with a volunteering award by Prime Minister David Cameron. PC Ian Northcott, famous locally for his singing skills, devotes his spare time to encouraging people to donate socks, hats, gloves, sleeping bags and chocolate to brighten up and make the festive season more comfortable for the city’s homeless. Ian is the latest recipient of a Point of Light award, which recognises outstanding individual volunteers - people who are making a change in their community and inspiring others. Each day, someone, somewhere in the coun…

Yet another fly on the wall programme, on the channel Pick Sunday nights with a Monday repeat. http://www.sky.com/tv/show/britcam Unlike most shows though it is almost entirely filmed using body cams with a small bit of fixed vehicle camera and standard camera crew. Follows BASICS Doctors, Bailiffs (including the same ones that are also on BBC1's Parking Mad!), Cops, and Taxi Drivers. Episode 1 was a nice mix - Doctor, Bailiff and Taxis (who actually have to put up with some awful crap from customers) and the body cam certainly gives a different perspective.
