The Locker Room

Hi Folks, back earlier than expected. As my thyroid levels are still high, as revealed by blood tests, the treatment could not take place - it's almost like the thyroid is still there! There will be a conference between the surgeon and cancer specialist to determine what actually has been removed (they are at different hospitals), but I have to go back in September and, if the blood tests are OK, I will then have the treatment. Having spent one night acclimatising in the "cell", it was not as bad as expected.

Hi all I'm pleased to say that today, I passed my PCV driving test, first time and with only 4 minor faults I'm starting driving for Stagecoach on Monday, carrying passengers for the first time Are there any other bus drivers on this forum? Thank you Alan

I don't suppose anyone knows of a member here who's a divorce lawyer? I am trying to find a template for full and final settlement for my house which is the last "unknown" of my divorce. Childcare and debts are sorted, but as I want to buy my ex out of the house rather than being forced to sell it I want to make sure it's all above board. Any help?

I'd like to extend a warm welcome to dhruti. Dhruti is a researcher/journalist with the BBC In the best Blue Peter tradition, here's a very interesting article Dhruti Shar prepared earlier.

I get bored easily and like to change by desktop background... However I have now run out of ones I like and look to you for your suggestions and personal favourites. Links will do to save cluttering up the thread with huge pictures Hopefully all will be able to steal the ones that tickle their fancy too.

Hi everyone, My apologies, but I just need to sound off and get this off my chest. This morning I am sitting here at work when my wife arrives on her bicycle in floods of tears. She has been cut up by a driver of a car and had to do an emergency stop as he turned left in front of her. He then stopped to drop off a passenger so she asked the driver why he did that and asked why he couldn't see her (she has her H-Vis pink tabard on) She then received a torrent of foul-mouthed abuse from the driver and the young passengers, they virtually called he every name under the sun. But what upsets me too is that she wouldn't call up to report it on the 101 number as she didn't s…

This cropped up in another thread and so as not to detract from the seriousness of it it was suggested by a forum member that we discuss it here. So is Jersey 'overseas' as far as policing goes? This is from the Government section on the This is Jersey website. So, Jersey is a dependency of the Crown, part of the British Isles but not a part of the UK. OK, I'm confused!

Why did the chicken cross the road? Sensible answers only please.

So you are sitting there with a full English breakfast in front of you, but what item do you start with and do you find you always start with the same item? I'm sausage every time.

These are the 'diet' boxer shorts chubby chaps have been waiting for – the male version of Bridget Jones's magic knickers. The £10 Bodysculpt Trunks from Asda have been dubbed Manx, after the trimming female underwear brand Spanx. Described as the 'boxer short diet', the pants claim to lift and firm flabby backsides, suck in beer bellies and smooth away love handles. Control underwear is a wardrobe essential for many women, and was famously worn by Renée Zellweger in the film Bridget Jones's Diary. Male underpants have come a long way from the traditional Y-front, though wearing the latest creation, which is pulled up over the ribcage, may not prove practical for m…
