Having been without a band for a whole year now my creative grey matter has been searching for a new hobby.... A couple of months ago, whilst tinkering with some small electrics I decided I would have a bash at modifying guitar amplifies.... This led me on to designing a couple of cabinets... I have now bagan building one of these cab's and have modified/ adapted a couple of amp heads etc... Along the way I discovered a guy on youtube called Steve Ramsey.. who runs a channel called Woodworking for Mere Mortals... He gives simples tuitions on how to build various handy or fun projects, like chopping boards, stools, chess boards, caddy's and cabinets and such like. I h…

..................automatically reading number plates phonetically. I've always taken notice of car registrations having spent a few years working in Ford and Volvo dealerships but have now moved on to the above. A little bit annoying but a good habit to be in job-wise. What do you do that's become habit since joining the job?

Extend your experience in the community by working with young people this summer! We think Police Specials would make great mentors and leaders for the programme as many already have relevant experience. We have found that volunteers who worked on the programme last year scored us very highly in terms of training and their own personal growth so I would really appreciate it if you could forward the information below to anyone you think would be interested... TAKE ON THE CHALLENGE TO LEAD AND MENTOR YOUNG PEOPLE THISSUMMER The Challenge is a youth and community programme thatinspires and connects young people across Britain to strengthen theircommunities. Who I wonder, would be prepared to put their head on the block and say that fred the shred (lower case is deliberate) will lose his knighthood. I sincerely hope that I am wrong, but my guess is that he will keep it(unfortunately).

In light of it being the 70th anniversary of Radio 4's Desert Island Discs, I thought it might be fun to say what eight discs, one book and one luxury you would choose. So to kick off... Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall (first single I ever bought) Roberta Flack - First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (was playing when I first saw the Sprog during a special 3D baby scan - cue tears ) Mozart - Piano Concerto No 23 in A, K.488 (quite possibly the most beautiful piece of piano music I've ever heard and I intend to learn to play one day) Eva Cassidy - Over The Rainbow (used to sing this to the baby Sprog at bedtime. He asks me to sing it to him now when he's unwell - cu…

Gillian McKeith dies live on TV. On Facebook, reading awkward moments, this one made me laugh, so much so I had stares in the office. I think I might be bored. Post any 'awkward moments' that you can think of. Could be personal, general, something you've seen, something that's happened to a mate, in work, policing..........anything.
