Following on from the Police Shows thead I wondered if any of you have favourite crime novels? Can you bear to read them or do you chuck them at the wall as soon as you come across some blatant inaccuracy? If you do read them, have you any favourtite authors and why? Conversely, are there any which drive you nuts or make you foam at the mouth?

Over the years I have been involved in three POLAC's and heard of many more where a black dog ran out in front of the police vehicle. Does anybody know if he's still about and if he's still targetting police cars in particular?

Folks We have decided that there are many of you out there that continue to contribute to the forum on a daily basis in spite of recent changes to the forum board and do so with the level of enthusiasm that instills this board with a vibrant sense of community spirit sometimes lacking on other forum communities. You post and create topics which bring meaningful discussions to the board and help in making this UKPoliceOline one of the best forum boards out there and for that I most certainly wish to say thank you. Whilst I have not been known to offer praise on many occasions being commonly referred to as BR, Ratty and Black Rat but more so Ratty as this is very often th…

Do you think the government should do this? I think it would be hard to enforce: 1/ For example if you are away would you have to go to court to prove you were? 2/ Let's say on the same street there is a family of 5 living in one house and a single person living in another. They both have the same length of pavement to clear but obviously is unfair on the single person as they have to do more work. There an article in the DM about this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2098008/Should-fined-dont-clear-snow-path-outside-house.html

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16153017.stm Chelsea's Frank Lampard says the Blues' 2-1 win over Manchester City was down to character and spirit, after scoring the penalty which condemned City to their first Premier League defeat of the season. Of all the damn results, as a Spurs fan, that is one result I could have done without.

Click The hubris in this poor child's letter is sad in itself; but his grammar is shocking. Instead of learning programming languages, maybe he should start with the English language first.

http://www.telegraph...ada-ruling.html I do wish Ms May would just show some grit and put Qatarda(along with his family) on the next plane to Amman, it leaves at 1705 today, RJA 112. What is the court going to do, send the PM to prison with the Home Sec. At the same time put Hamza on the next plane to the USA, who cares a fig if they have capital punishment, he would be no loss to society if he was given a strong current. I think 90% of the public are fed up with those non-elected Judges in Brussels telling us what we can, and cannot do, plus out English Judges who back Brussels at every move.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2098386/England-manager-Fabio-Capello-quits-crunch-meeting-FA-John-Terry-race-row.html I have never been over impressed by Capello as a manager and coach, but in my opinion it was rank bad manners of Bernstein not to tell Capello before announcing to the press that Terry should be deposed as Captain of England.(I happen to agree he should not be Captain, he is not a good example for anyone with the incidents he has been involved in, i.e pissing in a beer mug in a club, fighting with doormen, and his dalliance with Veronica). The FA don't seem to learn anything over the years, primarily because it is run by old farts who know littl…

http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2012/jan/30/delon-armitage-england-squad-arrest Good to see that some clubs take the matter of thuggery seriously, although it has taken them four bans to do something. Armitage is just a thug in a rugby kit, he seems to get into trouble at every other match, there must be a defect in his make up if he cannot play without having to punch people. Some clubs appear to condone thses thugs by continuing to employ them. It's a pity some football clubs don't follow suit.
