Read the rest here. I think this is an interesting question. I'd be inclined to answer no, television shows very rarely depict any subject accurately (and for good reason).

Ok. I have reached a dilema. I need a new car. I currently have an Audi A3 2.0T FSI. Petrol, Automatic (with flappy paddles), air con, 2 doors, 5 seats, lots of room. Very very easy and comfortable to drive and maintain. BUT - It's flipping (excuse my French) expensive. £90 to fill the tank, service is outrageous. Fortunately I don't have to worry about insurance because my company pays that, otherwise I'd never afford this car in a million years. I have fallen in love with this (exact car): It's a Volvo C30 1.6 Petrol R Design Sport. Good points: Custom leather interior. Bluetooth, cruise control, xenon lights, heated seats, 4 sport bucket seats. Does 45Mpg, w…

Stick a bullet in my head': Hero marine reveals how he begged comrade to kill him after IED blast blew off three limbs First triple amputee from Afghanistan to survive injuries Since rehab and birth of his son, feels his life has improved Aims to cycle 3,000 miles round Britain's coast for charity A hero Royal Marine who lost three limbs after kneeling on an IED in Afghanistan begged a comrade to shoot him moments after the blast. Brave Mark Ormrod, 28, was serving in Helmand Province on Christmas Eve in 2007 when the explosion ripped off both his legs and his right arm. Now fitted with artificial limbs, Mr Ormrod described in chilling detail the split-second his…

Sitting on a hard bicycle saddle can lead to sexual problems for both men and women, says Professor Irwin Goldstein of Boston University School of Medicine. Male cyclists are more liable to suffer from "changes to ejaculatory sensation, difficulty in urinating, and chronic numbness and pain". Women run the risk of clitoral pain and trouble in achieving orgasm. I knew it wasn't me - her bike's got to go.

The video posted explores (in a somewhat one-sided manner) murders in recent years where the victims are of a different ethnicity to the suspects/guilty party. It is at times far from the point and even inflammatory. Some of the examples of incidents (notably an asian drunk driver knocking down a white male) are clearly unlikely to be racially motivated and so are misguided points to make. However, deep down there may be a small element of truth to it. I do not want this to be a thread that drops into Met bashing/defending over Stephen Lawrence, but one which explores the topic of a whole. I found this interesting in light of the recent uproar regarding the 4 young …

Well, the big race is this Saturday so I have been studying the form! Remember this race is a lottery, with 40 horses trying to win the big prize, and statistics play a big part in picking the winner. Typically the winner will be aged between 8-10, will carry 11 stone or less, have won over three miles (and preferably a listed race), never have fallen more than twice in its career and have raced 10 or more times over fences. Also, 16 of the last 20 winners have had odds of 20-1 or less. Using this method I have had several winners over the last few years including the 100-1 winner Mon Mome! So, my tips this year are... Backstage Niche Market Oscar Time Ballybrig Go…

I explicitly said that there was nothing to see, and that you must not enter, but curiosity wins again. If you are reading this, leave a reply, as this will show that curiosity just got the better of you. Counting all non-unique views since Monday, 5 February 2012, 11:10: "Reverse psychology is a technique involving the advocacy of a belief or behavior that is opposite to the one desired, with the expectation that this approach will encourage the subject of the persuasion to do what actually is desired: the opposite of what is suggested. This technique relies on the psychological phenomenon of reactance, in which a person has a negative emotional response in reaction…
