This little beauty would normally be sunning itself in South America, but due to a change of course has found itself in South Wales. Just to the west of Newport to be precise. There's going to be 1000's of birders arriving early tomorrow!!! I think the last time a common yellowthroat visited the UK was in 2004 on Foula. This one has the advantage of the M4!!

A police officer from Lancashire has written a children's book to raise money for retired police horses. Pendle the Police Horse is the first book penned by PC Dave Palmer-Davies, from Leyland, who serves in Lancashire Constabulary's mounted branch. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-17086653 A book worth buying. :)

The headline reads "'Immigrant crimewave' warning: East Europeans were responsible for a QUARTER of all offenses in London"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17082141 We just throw money around like it's confetti............ I spent some time last month with a couple of employees of a firm that works with the UK Border Agency. And they told me that 'asylum seekers' entering the country all tell the authorities that they are 14 - so they get treated differently right up until the staff can actually verify their age. Even people who are 'obviously' over 40 still say that they are 14.......... To get to this country you have to go through quite a few other countries..........one wonders why people don't settle in those countries rather than go the extra thousands of miles, and a sea crossing, to …

Listening to the news this morning about drugs and Afghanistan. One of Blairs reasons for invading Afghanistan was to stop the drugs trade. When Blair invaded Afghanistan farmers were producing 185 tons of poppies a year. In the last nine years it has risen to a staggering 5,800 tons, last year alone it increased by 61%. The war has cost 18 billion pounds and cost the lives of over 400 British soldiers. I hope that anus Blair is proud of himself.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-17071779 The trouble with 'turning' football clubs into businesses is that, well, you can get 'owned'. In more than one sense of the word. Newcastle United fans don't like the fact that Sports Direct want the name of the stadium changing to reflect all the money they've spent on the club.........you know, to buy stuff like, players, the upkeep of the, er, stadium and pitch........that sort of mundane stuff. Some of them are going to, reportedly, continue to keep calling the home ground 'St. James'. Which is nice, maybe they'll all club together and pay for the stadium too - maybe sponsor the club themselves. Perhaps they'll …

Hey guys, As some of you know I have a blog on the site here (see my signature). I really enjoy writing the blogs, and want to expland and have an externally hosted blog. MikeBrum has kindly offered to help with the hosting and such, but first- I need a decent title for it, hence the poll. I'd really appreciate your ideas, let me know what you like, and after a while i'll see what the general consensus, if there's ever a consensus on here, aside from disliking Freemen. These are just a few that I came up with, any other suggestions would be great, Thanks everyone

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-17054761 Now the footage shown on TV of the cruelty here wasn't good, and as the owner he had a duty of care to these animals, but I wonder if any of this cruelty was a frame up by animal rights people with an ulterior motive, ie working on the belief that all animal husbandry and eating animals is wrong, so let's prove it by gaining video of cruelty by any means, including inflicting it ourselves. Call me cynical but I view with suspicion any footage filmed by people who want to prove a point in their favour. If anything comes out in subsequent investigations which shows that Stephen Brown was blameless and any of this foota…
