She was a complete disaster at Birmingham City Council and was involved in the 'postal votes' scandal, she then went to the UK Border Agency, where she just added to the chaos, and was replaced because she was inefficient. She then went to Immigration where 100,000 immigrants were let into the UK and she didn't know where half of them were. Then she was responsible when thousands of…

A MESSAGE FROM THE QUEEN To the citizens of the United States of America from Her Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II In light of your failure in recent years to nominate competent candidates for President of the USA and thus to govern yourselves, we hereby give notice of the revocation of your independence, effective immediately. (You should look up 'revocation' in the Oxford English Dictionary.) Her Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will resume monarchical duties over all states, commonwealths, and territories (except North Dakota, which she does not fancy). Your new Prime Minister, David Cameron, will appoint a Governor for America without the need for further…

Thoughts? I wasn't best pleased with the settin of the game. I just know it'll mean a bunch of stupid yanks going on about how they won the war of independence and killed loads of Brits. The saving grace of it is that Connor, the assassin, is half British. Other than that it looks like an utter beast of a game. Anyone played it yet?

Commuters are such a miserable bunch! If i saw Heston i would eat his food and blamed the train for being late lol! At least police officers get breakky in the morning (well in our team anyway!). Do you guys eat a decent breakfast before work? i eat mine in our office canteen, spend 30 mins for breakfast, another 30 mins for tea and 1 hr for lunch.

Has anyone had a suit tailored for them by one of these online outfits (if you excuse the pun) that promise to make a suit to your exact measurements and then ship it over to you? I'm quite tempted as I can get it made to my fit, and have exactly the style I want (it is so hard to get an off the-peg three piece suit) but I'm sceptical about buying something that is several hundred pounds as a bit of an internet risk-purchase.

http://www.thisiscornwall.co.uk/change-campaign-highest-point-Cornwall-Brown/story-17236097-detail/story.html there cannot be much of importance going on in Cornwall if all they have to worry about is changing the name of a hill. I think most of us can work out why it was possibly called that many years ago. Some councillors appear to have too much time on their hands.

Not sure if this has been mentioned in previous threads, but I found an interesting documentary on the History of British Policing. Can be quite waffly at some points..but overall I thought it was worth the watch if you've got some spare time!

There is a live feed of the event here: http://www.huffingto...l?utm_hp_ref=uk My understanding is that there are over 30 cameras covering the event so hope it is good! If you haven't come across this event there is an in depth article here: http://www.bbc.co.uk...onment-19860249 I am not 100% sure that it will go ahead today although the weather currently looks perfect. I also cannot guarantee good footage from the live stream! The earliest departure time will be 1430 hours (GMT + 1) so check back later if interested!

We are quietly, well some not so quietly, roasting on this side of the pond as in my area we are at day 7 of people without power since last week's storm. Tomorrows temps here are expected to be 40 at the airport, but actual daytime highs have been exceeding predictions by 1-3 degrees. I get the emergency alerts on my mobile and by email and have stopped going to my mobile when it alarms as I know it's the alert system telling me to stay inside, drink lots of water, etc. On the knitting forums, those in the UK are complaining about the rain and the slugs. We've actually only had a brief rain here since last Friday's derecho that did all the damage.

Are you planning on having 'Bonfire Night' at home this year, or will you be going to a Local Authority / organised event? Do you end up spending too much on fireworks, especially the large rockets and big BOOM type? Do you think the fireworks go on and on (too long) for days afterwards?

Does anyone make home-brewed beer or wine? I've been meaning to start trying it for ages but only just got around to trying my hand at making my own beer. It's all very exciting, I made up the beer yesterday in the fermenter and it's been frothing away for the first 24 hours now! Hopefully it all works out and it will average around 40p a pint.... you can't go wrong with that! (or else I'll end up with 25 litres of rank rubbish which will go down the drain!)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2225820/Mother-son-9-savaged-dog-calls-law-change-police-say-prosecute-attack-private-property.html I feel very sorry for the lad, but did he ask if it was alright to stroke the dog, or did he just go ahead and stroke it. You should never stroke any animal without asking the owner if the dog is safe to stroke. Alana, get off your high horse, the police were correct, it is a civil matter and you should take it to court if you are that upset, don't try and blame the police. Were you supervising your son properly, doesn't sound like it. If anyone is at fault it is HMG for making such crap laws and not including private property in…
