Metropolitan Police (London)

Hi all, recently sat my day one (external PC). On the old competencies I was aware the overall pass mark was 55% and you had to have a minimum percentage in written communication and respect for race and diversity. Where as now, the pass mark is still 55% overall but was wondering if there's a minimum requirement in any of the new competencies, such as service delivery or professionalism? Any help appreciated.

Anyone on here with any knowledge of Driving School matters able to PM me? Its with regards to course suitability

Hi can anyone tell me the shift pattern for NPTs in CW? I've heard they differ to other BCUs to fit in with the tubes/trains as is a no parking borough. Thanks

Anyone aware of any future intakes for transferees?

Afternoon all - Just wondering whether anybody on here has bitten the bullet and applied during the recent transfer window for Metpol? They were recruiting for pretty much everything, so being qualified in a few bits and bobs I applied for a specialist post directly. Has anybody done similar, or heard from recruiting regardless of the pathway you applied for? Eager to know as applied on 10/10/13 and I am awaiting any news. Cheers.

Hi everyone! I've tried searching for the answer to this but couldn't find anything so presume some of you may know! The gym at Empress State Building where the fitness part of Day 2 takes place, is that free to use for all serving MPS employees or is it solely for training purposes? During my Day 2 I noticed a few people walk in and flash their warrant/staff cards and I was just curious! If it is free/cheap to use, are there any more police-friendly gyms dotted around London? Thanks!

Without the need for me to look on aware - are applications to join full time still being taken?

Hi guys, I'm new to this site... this is my first time posting something :new_wave: :new_sweat: I just need some advice, i've always wanted to join the Met Police, since I was very young. I am now currently 16 doing my GCSE's. I would like to apply to the special's as soon as I turn 18; although iv'e heard that some people get rejected due to their lack of life experience (i'm guessing younger applicants). So now that I have heard that, I want to do as much as I can to maximise my chances; I have already done work experience in a law firm. I tried work experience my local station but the sergeant told me he can't due to the fact that there are sensitive materials ect…

Hello, MSC here, I was wandering whether when you complete the SC to PC course you have to then re attest/ get issued with fresh uniform/ warrant number or shoulder number? What do you keep? Thanks, these questions are valuable to me. L

Congratulations for being successful in Met's recruitment process! Anyone up for a drink? Would be great if couple of us could turn up...

I have just received a text from a friend who is also applying to the MSC telling me that he received an email informing him that specials recruitment has been temporarily suspended as they are focusing on regular recruitment. Has anyone else received a similar email and can anyone shed any light on this as I'm unable to access my email right now! Edit I've just managed to access my emails and found this in my inbox Really hope this doesn't last too long!

Hi Guys, Does anyone know if the Met provide boots in the uniform or if there is an allowance, etc? Thanks, Ant

Saw this on their website This is something I'm very interested in. According to the info pack: I'm guessing they are unmarked vehicles with blues&twos lol.

This is specifically for Special Sergeants, to see how you run and motivate your teams. What's your reply to these questions: 1) Do you have 1-2-1 with your team and how often? 2) How do you motivate your team? 3) What do you do differently to your other Supervisors? 4) Have adapted any practises from regulars skippers for your team? 5) How do you deal with discipline? I hope this might help in supporting ideas for other special sergeants.

Afternoon all, After spending a nightout in CW last night, soho areas etc, and despite being there from around 1600 until around 0300 I only saw 1 cop and that was a S/SGT I'm now in a county force after transferring out a few years ago but in my day there was OP Target running and NTE shifts all the time. With LPT in play what's happened to having a High Viz presence in these area at night? I'm sure there are plenty of D&Ds S5s, drugs lock ups to be had What's happened? Where is everyone?. Intrested to know as thinking of returning to the MET when they next open up for reg transferees and if I came to CW what would I be doing if I was on a SNT/LPT Any views a…
