So I've heard from various credible sources that 'the job has issues' and morale is pretty much rock bottom at the moment... As a student constable I am just wondering, what could I do to help boost the team's morale once I get out on borough? How can I be useful to the team and how can I contribute to the morale of the team so everyone will be better with me around? Anyone has any helpful ideas to present? (that worked?)

Just wondering - how does the Met deal with incidents on Halloween? it must be a nightmare right? I mean when I was 17 (yes I was young and foolish) I went out trick or treating with my girlfriend dressed in a balaclava to scare the kids. Imagine if I was a burglar or a robber... so how do we deal with virtually everyone dressing up in events like these (add on to parties, new years etc), wouldn't it be a perfect get away time to do a crime?

Are many members beginning training on the 17th Feb? Anyone know what borough they will be going to or what training site they will be at yet?

Hi, When recruitment for PCs eventually happens, will applicants have to have done the CKP before applying, or will they be able to apply if they agree to do the CKP at some point during or after submitting the application?

I'm starting my intensive course for SC on Monday, apart from few days at Hendon, I'll be doing my training at Richmond. I live in a small town a few miles up north from Brighton in Sussex. I'll be commuting to London for the training every day (no, I'm not entirely crazy). And I have a big problem related to what kind of ticket to buy so I'm guranteed a return of the travel expenses. To say it up front, I'm not very good with transport in London and what are the rules - I lack I bit of knowledge! For Richmond, I'll be going to London Victoria by National rail and then take the tube to Richmond via District line. For Hendon, I'll be going to London Bridge by National …

Hi guys, before I start patrol in a BCU I am just worried that I am not going to find my way that quick. I am not really map savvy as well. Does the force provide new officers with some kind of GPS system so they can find their way around quickly in the first few month? I don't want to get an I grade call and then get lost around the side roads...

As the title says! Folks can you tell me "from the horses mouth" what to expect at YR? This is going to be my new borough as a PC. I'm sure you locals will be able to assist! Hope you can help! Much appreciated!

Hi all. I am just wondering is there a time gap between finishing my training (as Met PC) and getting posted to my BCU? This is because I am trying to get my driving test done, don't ask the details, there are no ways around it.

Just a quick question - I saw on a series following new MPS recruits (from 10 years ago) that they did their coached patrol with one BCU and then started working with another BCU (it looked like it from the video). Now days, do they do coach patrol and IP now in the same BCU posting? I am just wondering because I am getting posted to my first choice, and I am worried that after I gain my IPS I will be sent to another to actually work. Thanks.

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GfdvIfT8H5c&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DGfdvIfT8H5c O dear, no real reason for the Audi to position his vehicle in the cycle area, equally no real reason for the cyclist to gob off at the next set of lights. Little bit of strong language.

Hi there After a lengthy application process, I am at last booked onto a training day - 9th Feb. Excited as I am, I received an email on Friday from HR stating that an employment reference had not replied to their email form. The difficulty with this reference, is that the company went into administration very recently (as well as the store I worked at closing down) - but I worked with them for five years, so as a 24 year old, its quite a significant employment time. The email address I gave HR originally was that given to me by said company's Head Office, though it would seem that the address is no longer valid. Long and short of it is, I'm in an awkward position. I h…

Good evening guys and girls, quick question for ya. Anyone in the process of online assessments/application for the met, the most recent one that closed on the 5th of Jan? External recruitment? I have completed the initial five assessments but yet to hear back, just wondered if anyone else is still waiting to hear back. Of course it's too late in the night to ring recruitment right now! Good evening to you all, and admin feel free to move topic if I'm in the wrong place

Hey folks, I was posted to Waltham Forest and wanted to know what its like. I understand there are 2 main police stations there, one being in Walthamstow town centre and another one is on Chingford. How busy this borough is? What can you share about getting experience in that borough (in terms of patrol coaching for probationers). Can you park in those police stations? If you can tell anything else about JC, it would be greatly appreciated.
