Metropolitan Police (London)

I have an interview for the specials on the 27th, just wondering with the written assessment do you get to keep the material for reference whilst writing your report or is it a case of reading it for 5 minutes, taking notes and then writing up the report from the notes/memory? Might seem like a daft question but it's only just hit me that the second scenario is must more likely.

Hi all.I was wondering if some serving officers can shed light on this matter. I am hoping to join the Met soon with the new recruits. However, I keep hearing that the 'ship is sinking' (to put it in lighter terms) can some officers please enlighten me as to what is going on? what should I prepare myself for going into? It's really unnerving not knowing and no one would tell me... If it's too personal, can you please private msg me? thank you

A bit of a random question but I was wondering if anyone knows if those shops sell things like Met branded wall plaques and how much they are?

Hello - just wondered if there were any GD MSC officers on here who could tell me a bit more about the borough and what they get up to. I'm currently on NI (Islington) through moving house Shoreditch police station has become my nearest. I've done a year on NI now and like it but have often wondered what it would like over the border. I also like policing the area I live in. Ideally, I'd like to do a couple of 'guest' duties with local officers with a view to consider transferring. Any posts/PMs welcome!

I have an interview on the 27th of this month for the specials in London. I received an email from them with a website link attached which leads you to a site which outlines certain details and things you should expect on the big day. A practise written mock exam is included on this website which requires you to use your problem solving abilities to come up with a solution to a problem (In this case a disagreement between two shops.) I really need some more practise material because as it stands right now I still need a lot of work if I am going to pass this exam. Does anybody know where I can find any job specific material to practise with? I would love a few other mock…

Hi all, I am retaking my Day 1 interview tomorrow. I was unable to attend my re-invite last month due to unforeseen circumstances so HR very kindly agreed to rearrange my interview! Am I likely to find out if I passed or failed on the day or do my answers have to be sent off and marked? Thanks, Cameron

Just wondered if anyone has heard anything about the results of the HI-Vis jacket trial that was carried out earlier this year? Are we getting them?

Hi everyone, im due to take my kee 3 exam this sunday and im a little stressed out and confused on Drivers obligation. I dont know whether i can talk about exam related topics on here but i was wondering if someone can help answer a question for me regarding drivers obligation, i do not mind private messaging someone on here about it as im not sure if im allowed to talk about here.

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone knew how the 6 month rule works for the met, do you have to wait 6 months if you fail at the paper sift or is it only if you have attended the assessment centre? Thanks in advance

Just a quick question for those of you who have recently, or are currently going through the msc vetting process. What was the timescales YOU had after completing day 2 being offered training dates and then conformation that vetting was all done? My day 2 was mid October, so just trying to get an idea of realistic timescales. Thanks!

The met are now recruiting for police officers under a graduate scheme, must have a minimum of 2:1 degree Special constables Pcsos and police staff who are eligible are allowed to appy

Apparently us new troops won't get free travel for train, but will for underground and buses. Can any one confirm for defo? I don't want to get nicked by BTP for ticket skipping...

After completing my Day One Assessment I logged onto the 'My Application' page as I had not yet received an email about the status of my application, to which I was informed that I had been unsuccessful. I emailed HR to find out why I had been unsuccessful to which a lady replied to inform me that it had been a mistake and the I had in fact been successful. If I had not emailed I may have missed my Day Two Assessment! Just a tip guys, don't want anyone missing out!

Does the Met still do MSC Tutor constables, Someone told me they don't do it, and the only option is to become a S/Sgt yourself? And if anyone has done it, is it just a ROC? Or is there formal training?

just looking through this http://www.met.police.uk/crimefigures/ Does any one know why Westiminister has such a crime rate vs Kensington and Chelsea (which is next door)? being a Londoner, it doesn't make sense to me??
