A few weeks into the vetting process now, but based on today's conversation with the recruitment team Im confused! Having not been able to get on "My Application" for a few days I thought I would call to see if there were any updates. The helpful adviser was quick to check and come back to say it was "all done" and just waiting for the manager to view my file. I asked if vetting had been completed and the adviser thought it had. However, looking at the FAQ's on the met site it says, "24 weeks - Notification of Day 2 result. Check of your recruitment file by a recruitment manager" Based on everyone's experience do you think the vetting has been done. I know HR said yes…

Hi Just wondering if anyone has any experience with why the police ask about our internet usage. Do they check our social networks, even if they are on private? (not visible to public.) Here is the question on the form: "Do you subscribe to any Social Networking site on the Internet, i.e. chat rooms, forums, groups, auction sites etc?" Would this include Facebook/Twitter? Would this effect our application? Thanks! :new_yummy:

Hello everyone I am new to these forums so pardon my ignorance! I recently sent off my online application on the 29th April so it has been just over 2 weeks! My online application is currently at the Initial Sift stage. Just wondering how long I will be waiting to hear anything and to see If I get an invite to Day 1. I'm applying for the Met I know they have massive demands and looking around these forums some people have waiting up to 10 weeks to hear anything back. Also wondering how long did you guys have to wait? Thank you Lorenzo.

Update: Serving MSC in MPS still need CKP to get onto a January 2014 (and future) course. We are talking MSC->PC. This is official info from HR. :new_thmbdn2: Yes, I know, they SCRAPPED it but do not be fooled this comes from HR. So, I guess it's the usual MET where everything changes every minute. Feel free to message me here or via msconline for more details OR e-mail HR yourselves. No comment.

All, In particular traffic bods! What's the deal with interviewing someone at scene if they are not at fault? Or is it acceptable to caution+3 someone if your just confirming they were said driver of the vehicle or if it has been moved? Secondly, is it mandatory to complete PRIMROSE at the scene of a reportable collision? Any help appreciated.

I'm currently going through vetting at the moment for MSC. Looking through the pre-training site, which HR have given me a link for, can someone clarify what I should be looking at with the long/quick notes. I recognise that I'm going to need to learn all of the material on the course. My email does say I must look at the material before I attend, but I suppose I'm slightly overwhelmed and not sure where to start! Any advice:-)

Hi everyone I have been speaking to a friend who works for Essex police, and he had told me a good 'tip' is to get my shoulder number engraved onto my (personal) torch and (issued) handcuffs? Is this a recommended suggestion and does anyone else do this? Simple reasons were for quick identification with multi arrests, and in case they go 'walkies?' Thanks

Hi guys I'm a little bit confused about the uniform for training which I'm due to start very soon, it says to dress in smart business attire which i understand, now are we having to dress like this everyday for training and once we are provided with uniform we use that ? And in terms of p.t kit are we notified of when to bring this with us ?

I registered interest in the MET a couple of months ago and am awaiting the application form. Just wondering if anyone else is still waiting, the MET website says I should hear something in October?

I recieved my letter of appointment for my full time training course and on there it says that my induction is based at hendon and the rest at Richmond now it states that there is parking facilities available on site at hendon ? But previously I have read that parking is only available for weekend courses. Or is parking only available for induction sessions and not if you have any training there ?
