Hi all, Does anyone know of any differences between Hendon and Marlowe in terms of response driver training? Does one have a higher success rate? Do they both come under the MPDA or is Marlowe out-sourced? Thanks, GD

Hi all, just wondered if anyone was in the same boat as myself really. Ive passed the sift stage for Special constable and have my assessment in a few weeks time. Would be great to hear of anyone in the same position with the Met, and where abouts youre from or have selected to be stationed from. I actually live in Berkshire but not very far out of London so the commute will be fine. Really hoping it all works out as im super excited to get out on the streets and do my bit!

Please do get in touch by posting! Also, are there any SC's that could shed some light on what exactly happens on an MSC's first day at Hendon? Any first day tips or things to be prepared for, that wont be said in advance? Thanks!

Just thought I'd start a thread on these as the BWV roll out seem to be gaining speed. Tablets of course will or may be with us soon. (The other thread seem to be too big now) BWV is one of the best things I've found so far in the job for a while. Especially with the 30 second buffer. My court cases, touch wood, have almost dried up. Clients always seem to be far nicer nowadays now they're being video recorded.. Tablets will be a boost once they come, which should hopefully cut down on a lot of double entering especially for me at least at RTC's. Anyone else find these good or bad?

So far I have notes for KEE1 , 2 and im going along the KEE3 subjects as I approach them in class. Also have OST ones if anyone is interested... Hi All, So my application is going through and I had to declare a medical issue to the Met, better safe than sorry. So in essence I have been diagnosed with Crohns, however I haven’t had a flare up since diagnosis and a course of steroids, don’t take any medication, haven’t had surgery ever & it doesn’t affect me day to day. Anyway I submitted my whole medical file to the Met to be totally transparent on the issue and they’ve now issued some Management Guidance Information and asked if I agree. I have a couple of questions: 1- Does this guidance affect whether they accept my application or not? 2- Is it worth challenging some of the information in the le…

Raw Blues - 1999 Training at Hendon. PC recruits starting out in Hendon! Major observational documentary series following new recruits from police training at Hendon Police college to the gritty reality of policing the streets of London. The programme follows the progress of a group of new recruits from their arrival at the Met's Training School at Hendon in October 1999, until they start work on the streets just 18 weeks later. Twenty-Four year-old Clare Keating was treated so well by police when she was arrested as a youngster that she's decided she wants to join up herself. "I know I cant change everybody's image of the police on my own", says Clar…
