Metropolitan Police (London)

Hi, I'm currently a Police Cadet Instructor and have completed my MSC VPC Fast-Track application but I'm stuck for what borough to choose! I don't want to go anywhere past Westminster/Central London so basically staying on the west side of London, but I really don't know where to go ans what I'd like to do! Please help me choose!! Thanks, Ty

A few months ago I've been in Barking's police station for filming purposes (educational). After filming, I was having a chat with the officers, they explained to me that the station was no longer active (that suspects no longer are taken to this station or interviewed) - If anyone has any information on why, please let me know. I also heard that apparently they are closing down this station, too. This would suck as when I become an SC; I wanted to be based here as I know quite a few Police Officers from the nick.

Just been issued uniform and uniform services didn't have my size metvest in stock. It's being delivered to my borough however I don't know how long it takes to order. Ideally I would like to try it on before going out to make sure it fits. Can anyone help?

How is everyone finding the new extended MSC to PC conversion course? Are you finding it beneficial or do you feel like you are doing your MSC training all over again, with a few little added extras!??

Hi, very quick question appoligies if it's been covered elsewhere. How likely are you to get one of the three boroughs you select on the met's application form? If you don't get the ones you want and the travelling involved makes you unable to volunteer will they reconsider?

Hi, Was wondering if anyone had a contact number for the ESP team. There online request form doesn't really have options i need.

I have booked myself on to the 7th october - 6th November intensive training this morning, so glad they finally sent the email with the offer been waiting for what seems like forever haha Anyone else doing this? Would be nice to know someone on the same course! Also getting posted to hounslow afterwards, which I heard is a great nick, so really looking forward to that, anyone there as well?

Do you know if it's possible to apply to be a regular as a special before I complete my years probation as Police Staff?

My Girlfriend's late father was an architect, and as such spent quite a lot of time on building sites. He used to collect old coins and bits and pieces he found on said sites. Amongst the stuff in his collection is a 1911 met Police coronation medal which has a name engraved around the side. My girlfriend is now keen to return it to the family of the recipient. How do we go about tracing them?

I need to know my 8 number warrant number for a form I'm trying to fill in. I obviously know the 6 digits off by heart but I'm unsure of the 2 numbers that go before it. Anybody know where if would be able to find out?

Hello, What is the system for booking your shifts. In Essex I just just book on, go in and head out with whoever is free (until im IP). My brother joined your ranks months ago and said places each night are limited to a carrier full and so he has only worked 2 shifts as he isn't quick enough when booking on, I know that I would of been 'moved on' if I had worked so few hours, so what is going on? Liam

When i applied to join the specials i was given the opportunity to choose three boroughs i would work in. I put Bexley as my first choice, Bromley as my second and i think greenwich as my third. Is there any way of telling which i am most likely to get? Or does it depend on that specific recruitment cycle?

Hello all, So this Sunday I start training finally, can't wait! (Hello to anyone else who is too..) Have a couple of questions, The first being in my training letter it says I will continue to do my training at Hendon after the first week, however I live the other side of london (Wimbledon way), was just wondering if this sounds normal? As it's going to be a pain getting to Hendon every Sunday especially with usual engineering works that are bound to happen on the tube etc.. Second question is when I rang up to book my training dates I was told that my posting would be the Royal Parks after training and I even have e-mails from a Sargent in Hyde Park saying they're l…

I wasn't sure whether this should go in the 'Kit Corner' or not, so bear with me! Just a quick question really: does the Metropolitan Police have its own tie? Now, I'm not talking about the black clip-on ones - I mean ties of a particular colour and stripe (like regimental ones) that one can wear in civilian clothes. I've been to Benson & Clegg in St. James's as they stock lots of regimental ties, but they have no idea about the Met. tie-wise. I've also made a few internet searches without success. Now I'm a Special it would be nice to wear an 'entitled' tie. Any help much appreciated!
