I've just completed my day one a few days ago and others who were applying were mentioning that 1 in 5 applicants went all the way into training. As there were around 20 of us, through the logic mentioned before only four would go on to training. Is the 1 in 5 rumour just that? A rumour.

Just a question for some of those who may be more knowledgable in the actual processes than I am regarding uniform and equipment... I recently came back from a training course where at times I may be required to carry an additional piece of equipment and extra pouches. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it...) I have a VERY small waist and firstly I physically won't be able to add anything else onto my belt. The only additional non-issue bits of equipment on by belt is a torch and multitool. I can ditch the multitool (rather not ditch the torch) however there still isn't enough room. Hi all Am after a bit of advice, I have my fitness and medical on Monday for met specials but unfortunately I have an unexpected hand injury which means I can't do the fitness test. As its such late notice who do I need to contact? Does anyone know if they'll let me defer my fitness for say 3 months whilst I get my injury treated? Thanks Donna

As we are specials and therefore don't have regular access to premises or it...unless you want to go to the nick off duty. (I for one dont fancy the 5 minute walk each time just to check an email) Seems appropriate as I am recieving a lot of email nowadays... Is it allowed to set up an autoresponse in Outlook asking the sender to send anything they deem important but not restricted to your civillian email address? Or is this in breach of some rule? I can't find any SOP or rule on it , as im still quite new to aware...only use it once a week, so never enough time to get hold of it. My trainer didn't know a thing when I asked him today

Just decided to whack open my packet of leather gloves this morning (its cold and I was thinking of having a cheeky wear!!) and as I was checking them out , I noticed one of the gloves have a small tear/hole in the palm of one of them. How do I go about getting it replaced at this stage?

Hi all, I'm looking for some clarification - On the Met's application form there is a question which asks me whether I have attended an NRS Day One Assessment in the last six months. My question is - Is an NRS Day One Assessment linked exclusively to the Met or is it in use by other HO police forces? I have applied to be a Special previously with a HO force and went through the process, I also have an ongoing app with BTP on which I am still awaiting a response. Do BTP use the NRS Day One Assessment? I need to complete this section of the application and don't want to put down any incorrect information as it might be percieved as lying or withholding info. Is anyone having problems logging into black board? I can't seem to log in. Just wondering if its just me or its an internal problem with the university. Have sent them an email but its out of hours.
