Hi all, Just a quick question; Is it possible to put in an application for a civilian police job (e.g. Met CCC) and a specials application (also Met) in at the same time? Thanks in advance Regards SCXBVPC

Hi guys, I was wondering how easy it is to change my borough choice. My fist choice if I remember right was Hillingdon. Recently I was at my dads retirement do after twenty six years in the force and his team have said they want to have me on their team at Brent. I had Brent as one of my choices so I was wondering how hard it would be to make that my first choice. I'm yet to start training but i've seen that others are starting to get emails and calls from their chosen boroughs around this time so I was wondering what I would need to do about it. Cheers, Blandy

Haringey (YR) borough currently has 80 MSC officers with 10 more on their way from Hendon. We are looking to recruit a further 112 MSC officers to help us with our ever expanding role in this north-east London borough. We are very flexible, with a wide range of duties available. The majority of our officers are not attached to any particular unit and prefer to keep duties varied. We are welcoming new recruits and have a dedicated support team run by our specials that will stay in contact from an initial expression of interest to your first duties. New MSC officers will not be given full choice of borough duties until they have completed a series of coached patrols and f…

The dress code is to dress smart right? I cannot remember off the top of my head what it says but in addition to the usual white shirt , black tie , pants and shoes thing.... Is anything similar to this acceptable: http://outlet.marksandspencer.com/Blue-Harbour-Cotton-Stripe-T25-6461B-S/dp/B0080P21X6?field_availability=-1&field_browse=1462497031&field_product_site_launch_date_utc=-1y&id=Blue+Harbour+Cotton+Stripe+T25-6461B-S&ie=UTF8&refinementHistory=subjectbin%2Csize_name%2Ccolor_map%2Cbrandtextbin%2Cprice&searchNodeID=1462497031&searchPage=1&searchRank=salesrank&searchSize=12 plus say a jumper or sweater/pullover? or is it really…

Hi. I havent done a shift for a little while and havent logged onto MSC online for ages. As a result I have now forgotten my username like the numpty that I am. I don't fancy asking my sergeant for fear of being ridiculed. I know it was a combination of my shoulder number, initials and borough code, but I cant remember in what order and the site doesnt like any combination that I try. Please somebody help me so I dont have to go to my sergeant with my tail between my legs :new_no:

I'm starting the intensive course next month and just got a date through for uniform fitting near London Bridge. I just wondered if anyone else has gone through this recently and knows how long it takes? I haven't had much information and I'm not sure if it'll take half an hour or all morning... Grateful for any stories you may have

Hi guys! I'm currently trying to find a part time job for myself so that I can earn some money while I'm at college (and uni , seeing as I 'm not leaving the area) I have an interview lined up for Monday and need to have some sort of idea of my availibility to see if I can deviate from the shifts that they have listed here on the job description. I'm going to start the MSC Hybrid course and need to know what the typical start and finish times are each day roughly. I just want a rough estimate particularly for Saturdays , which is when I might clock in for a night shift or early turn. Before anyone says it : No. I will not ask HR , they won't give me an answer at all…

Sorry to create a new topic but has future_officer been banned? Just reading through a recruitment topic and shows him as a banned member. Now while I am quite happy about this fact and consider the Met forum a better place without his constant junk and wild speculation, is there a particular reason why he has been barred - have I missed something?

Hi All, I've been in the MSC for over 2 years and still enjoying it. Anyway, during these 2 years my PNB has taken a battering so much so, the covers are literally turning into mush. I've been looking for PNB covers and have sent my details to MetFriendly who promised to send a cover but got nothing. As a result, can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I can get a simple PNB cover/holder. I've been looking around everywhere but just can't find anything that's the right size etc. There are some leather ones I've seen floating around but I'm not willing to pay £15 odd for it. Any help would be appreicated.

The other day I was in a Met nick and trying to hand over a job. The gatekeeper explained that since the introduction of the LPM that his team would not take the job (after a bit of back and forth they did). I have heard quite a few Met bobbies refer to the Local Policing model but have truly no idea what this means from a practical policing (rather than corporate) point of view. Is it such a massive departure from the response/ NPT model that some other forces have? If anyone can explain it and what it means for the boots on the ground that would really state my curiosity.

Hello all, I have heard that the internal recruitment for MSC that was going to occur late August is now being moved to January? Has anyone else heard this rumour? After paying £825 for the CKP I now hear they are taking that away for MSC. Well, I for one will certainly be giving them my college invoice if they do take it away!! I'm getting rather annoyed and frustrated that HR keep moving the goal posts to become a regular. As well as working full time, I also have a two year old, I'm trying to get my CKP done, and I'm trying to complete my 16hours. I'm finding it difficult to keep up with all of the changes that keep being bought in and then taken away!!!! Thanks, …

Does anyone on here have any experience of obtaining for the purposes of verifying its accuracy their personal information held by the MPS under the Data Protection Act? I am planning to write to the Data Protection Officer and I wonder what level of helpfulness I might expect.
