Does anyone know if the Met are finally upgrading kit? Seen a few officers walking around recently with load vests over the met vest... Is this something new that can be ordered? Weren't specialists, just on team

Dear colleagues, May I kindly point out that my OCU has released a plain clothes and unformed duty that IPS officers from any (B)OCU are welcome to assist with, starting mid October. The role has opened up yet again (not suitable for those who are yet to do Day 1 for SC , PC , DDO or PCSO or wish to do so anytime soon within 6 months) I'm going to apply especially as I am almost to start training for MSC and don't intend to put in for regs for at least a year..... Does anyone do this role and can they offer any insight into the role and the training for it? Also what benefits do we recieve as Police Staff. I'm not familiar with contract specifics for the role but as it is casual are we officially classed as employees of the MPS for this role. Kind Regard TC

Hi, Is anybody enrolled to start the long distance version as of June 3rd? Unlike other CKP providers this is one of a very approved teachers of the course yet unlike its rivals its offers the course at Level 4 with it all being coursework base

Hi, I'm new and I was hoping you could help me out. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about funding for the CKP for minority groups, I know they already provide extra help for certain minority groups, such as pre-assessment days etc, but the funding would be a massive help if they did! I already have massive debts from my policing degree and now they announce the CKP! thanks

Anyone else totally mystified by the attitude to uniform by different boroughs. I get new kit and now told that combats not suitable for certain duties. Some officers are told dont wear a fleece wear a sweater, it appears that senior staff are deciding to define what shoud be worn according to their preference. If we have a new uniform that should be it surely, not a mishmash of old and new.

Just wanted to know if the latest intakes of PCs are getting their number 1 choice of borough or ending up with their 6th choice? Cheers

Hi I have been viewing these forums for the past few months an only just signed up and can't seem to find a answer to my question. I have applied to become a special quite sometime ago and had my day 1 in march and my day 2 beginning of April and I was told on the day that i passed my day 2 and at I should wait till mid April till I should hear something back for my training dates, it's been about 3 and half months now and I have not heard anything back a few weeks back I managed to contact vetting who told me my application has passed on 10th may but I have called up recruitment who keep telling me that I need to wait, is anyone else experiencing the same issues, I kno…

Any news on whether this is going to be repeated as part of this year's recruitment exercise?

Out of interest, how quickly do your boroughs sign off your PACs/SOROC (and PDP if you have it). I seem to be on the borough that wants to train you to the highest possible standard before signing anything off, 220hours of duty and still got 4 out of 7 PACs left. (A pattern amongst all MSC on my bocu). I don't get how there are people IPS after 200 hours. It should be worth noting I'm on a team specially trained for coached patrols and probationer training.

Just wondering if anyone is thinking of relocating or has relocated in the past to join the Met? Pros and Cons?
