So we finally attested today! It seems however that I won't be on borough for atleast a month due to them moving to LPM - I therefore wouldnt feel comfortable stepping up off duty and getting involved in something, should it happen. Therefore, is it acceptable to use my warrant card to travel on TFL knowing full well that I would be lost if someone asked for my help..? Maybe I will continue to pay for a while? Thoughts?

Hi guys, I have recently just passed my day2 assessment and I am now awaiting on a date to be given for my training. I was just wondering how long that will take, I passed my day2 on the 19th May 2013 and I am on the ESP FastTrack Scheme.

I was going to bump the old thread from 2 years ago but I wasn't sure of its relevance anymore. I was wondering if anyone can advice on what is expected from the assessment who recently undertook it. I've seen people from the weekday intensive take EABs home, filled them to bring it in. Also do you need to follow pocket book rules? I.e. large capitals for names/places etc. What do you do if you can't fit a word in the same line I.e. do you just continue onto the next line without a -

been looking at the notices on AWARE over free travel. The policy says we must keep our OST and ELS in date at all times and if it lapses , then we have a three month grace period upon expiry to get it sorted out... I know OST runs out every 6 months but how often does an ELS refresher have to be done? and what are these refreshers like? Is it just a day course (a refresh in simple terms) or is it doing the whole class again over several days? Before anyone asks , I can't "look on aware" now , I'm at home! Cheers guys

Hello everyone, I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but after a bit of searching I have found on the Metropolitan Police website a nice glossary for everyone to have a look at it when they come across certain abbreviations they don't know! I won't post the whole glossary here, not sure whether there are any copyright implications that come into play and the fact that it is just a very very long list. I know this has been discussed before but has anyone on here seen OH and had a result regarding back ache? I'm awaiting referral after two trips to the GP... I've not damaged my back (luckily) but my lower back mucsles are unusually tense and I've out this down the duty belt. End result it gets very uncomfrotable borderline painful at the end of a shift. I know the met is awkward as well :/

This may be an obvious question, but not so to me! It says on our letter that we should attach our crown, letters and numerals on our tunic for attestation on Sunday. Do i attach them directly onto the tunic?!

Rang up recruitment to book my training dates recently and was informed that my specials area would be the Royal Parks (Kind of out of the blue as none of my choices were Royal Parks!) Was just wondering if anyone here worked them or had any insight as to what range of things policing in the parks entails?.. Also, would this require extra or different training as it would be different to working a borough? So to speak. Thanks.

Hi there! I'm booked onto the intensive training course from 12th August - 12th September. Is anyone out there going to be on the same course?
