So basically, I had my KEE 3 today, it did not end too well! Everyone at Sidcup and Hendon failed! No one passed at all. Everyone failed on drivers obligations. The questions were really badly written and the answers, well there were 3 possible answers, so it was literally a guessing game as to which the answer was going to be! I now have to go back during the week, with everyone else, to resit the test before attestation. Am I the only one that thinks this is unfair?!

Just a general question really, if it has been spoken about before I apologize. Is there any additional equipment / kit that would be handy to have for training? Furthermore any additional kit that would be handy to have on duty that is aloud? Any recommendations or advice would be gratefully received!

Saw a post on this thread: http://www.policespecials.com/forum/index.php?/topic/117981-unit-descriptions-and-links-to-borough-threads/page__view__findpost__p__2110488 It was about STC/STC OSG. I just wanted to know if this is more or less still the case and if they are still taking on new MSC straight from Hendon, especially in light of these new changes to everything within the MPS.

As above... I would also like to mention that "word on the street" is that this intake was not big at all numbers wise. Therefore, I would have thought that after over a week now since day 1, results would have been know by now... Anyone?

Hi all, I had my 3rd OST lesson today and what should have been my CS exposure lesson. Got into the classroom to be told by the instructor that orders had come down from above that the CS exposure was no longer required in training. The general feeling with the instructors was of disbelief and so too with myself and my fellow students. We may find ourselves in the not too distant future in a situation where either ourselves or one of our colleagues have to use the stuff for real and that will be the first time any of us will experience the disorientating effects of CS spray - something which i personally would rather had experienced in a proper controlled environment. …

Hi! I know some of you know the answer, so please help If I am putting down educational references (instead of work ones) as I have been in full time education for 3 years THEN will they also might ask me to provide work ones? As I have been working during that time too. What do you think? Reason is, if I will put work ones I know the mood at work will get reach bottom. Additional issue is that Vetting wants all these papers now and my university tutors will be in from September What is the best solution? Many thanks,

I recently applied to become a special constable, I just wanted to know if anyone could give me a rough estimate on how long the process takes and for someone to get back to me. Also any advice or information regarding the process would be much appreciated.... Rob

What is the difference between L1 and L2 cyclist and is there now just a 'cyclist'? I have seen some bikes with blue lights on them. Can this be moved to met area... Wrong area sorry.

I'm going through training at the moment and have noticed that there are plenty of long-serving constables but far fewer sergeants. I wondered what the pros and cons are of being a sergeant in the Met (as a paid regular)? Also what do you have to do, in terms of the application process, to become a sergeant? Thanks.

Been hearing a few horror stories of peoples applications being terminated at the very last minute after they are challenging the borough they are being posted to. In particularly being posted somewhere that is completely unpractical for someone to travel to from where they live. Anyone had any problems in the current processes?

Today is the day, a few of us get an email that gives us access to the application for the Feb 2014 Hendon intake. I found this website that for some may find helpful with their application and preparation: http://www.jointhejob.com/index.php?categoryid=18 Best of luck to all who apply. For those who are less confident with their application, have faith and hope. Work hard and you will succeed to day one.

Hi all!! I am not sure what happens after your MSC to PC conversion course. As far as I aware you are coached by PC and you need to complete some sort of soroc book for PCs. Right? When you eventually complete it are you still on duty for duration of 2 years with your PC tutor? Or not?

Thought I would start a topic for people who are currently registered and ready to apply to the August 2013 round of MPS recruitment. The deadline to register has gone today (7th August) and so hopefully in the next couple of weeks online application forms should become available to us. Any ideas on how many are being recruited...I've heard rumours it will be several thousand over several years?
